Laneige Perfect Renew Regenerator Serum Review
I’ve always loved Laneige skincare line but this blew me away. Perfect Renew’s main technology is called Skin Rebirth™ – a technology that rejuvenates the skin through flavonoid component extracted from the galangal root that increased skin metabolism. This will renew your skin by filling up the loose structures of “Baby Triangles” only found in a young skin.
Okay, so “Baby Triangles”? I know, kind of an interesting name? Isn’t it? Baby Triangle is a dermal structure shaped of small triangles that is only found in the surface of young an healthy skin. It is characterized smaller and denser as the skin is younger. As our skin ages, the structure of “Baby Triangle” distorts and loses its ability to protect our skin. Hence by reconstructing it, our skin will regain its youthfulness and softness like the skin of a baby.
Another technology is the Ceramide Water, which is the core moisturizing factor of Perfect Renew. This has been further upgraded to penetrate the skin barrier and thoroughly moisturize the skin, having a more powerful hydrating effect.
I have been using this as my serum for more than three straight months but actually, in just a month, I’ve grown to love it. I’ve seen results! In fact, you’ll see that I’ve raved about it in my March 2016 Faves. There may have been changes in my skincare routine but, during the first month, this was the only thing that I added or changed… whatever.
What I love about this serum is that it’s VERY and I mean very lightweight. Apart from that, it doesn’t feel tacky after application. You know those serums/creams that may feel lightweight but takes a lifetime (well, okay, not a lifetime, but a while) to set? This is not one of those serums. The serum has an amazing, really light texture that gets easily absorbed by the skin. In fact, with just a couple of minutes, I can do my makeup right after application, provided I don’t apply any cream afterwards. In fact, I sometimes substitute this with my moisturizer. Well, I skip creams and jut use this instead especially during daytime. This is the first serum that I can apply underneath makeup. Some serums, though they may be lightweight are uber greasy, again, this is not one of those.
Laneige Perfect Renew Regenerator Serum claims to provide the following benefits:
– Restore damaged skin
– Enriched moisturizing skin
– Brighten skin tone with natural gloss
– Keep skin texture sleek and fine
– Improve fine wrinkles
– Enhance skin elasticity
Now did it live up to its claims?
I’d say YES! To be quite honest, way way back, I thought that lightweight moisturizers/serums don’t really work for people with dry skin types like me. But again, I was wrong. This again, is very lightweight, non-greasy, non-icky yet it works. It kept my skin hydrated the entire day, my skin looks plump and radiant, (Song Hye Kyo here I come! Char! – my skin’s no where like hers – Eew Yette! In yer dreams!) AND it allows me to put makeup right away.
All in all, I’m really in love with this serum and rest assured that I will repurchase this one as soon as I run out. It may be pricey but it’s definitely worth it and a little of it goes a long way. Especially if you pair it with other Laneige products (like the Clear-C Advanced Effector & it’s skin refiner? Ohmahlawd!). I promise to do a skincare routine soon so you’ll know what I often use.
