Chuda Healing Hydrating Cream Review

Let me start this post by saying, I love makeup. I know, kinda irrelevant for what we are about to discuss, right? But yes, I love makeup. Evidently. So much so that when you ask me what I would rather buy, skincare or makeup, without thinking twice, I’m gonna say makeup. However, that all changed last year. Last year was the time when I started discovering some problems with my skin and makeup’s just not enough to cover it. I have to buy something for my skin. I had to invest to something that will solve my issues. My skin’s always been dry, I know that. But all the redness, the unevenness, as well as the bumps and my eyebags drove me cray cray. I paid more attention to my skin. I started experimenting with tons of moisturizers, serums, creams, God knows what else
That’s why when Chuda reached out to me a couple of months ago and asked me if I wanted to try their latest skincare product, without hesitation, I said yes.

You might be wondering, Chuda? Whaa? I know. Here the Philippines, the brand definitely sounds unfamiliar.  Created by Dr. Elena Ocher, Chuda Healing Hydrating Cream is the first-ever formula rooted in the centuries-old, skin-healing Remedea Compound™ and boosted by the most scientifically advanced, medical grade actives. Chuda Healing Hydrating Cream is known to deeply hydrate and rapidly heal dry, damaged and compromised skin.

Now, on to the next big question, what is the Remedea Comound, I know, I have the same question too. The compound dates back to Princess Medea of Colchis, who crafted medicinal healing elixirs made from potent botanicals and herbs. Her elixirs are reported to have inspired the Turmanidze family of healers to create the 1000 year-old Remedea Compound.

The compound is comprised of indigenous ingredients that grow atop Georgia’s breathtaking Caucasian mountain range in untouched, mineral-rich soil. They are harvested once a year, when their potency is at its peak, resulting in a nutrient-rich remedy with natural antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

The cream comes in a huge red and white sturdy, plastic tub. It’s actually a pretty heavy and I believe that one of the reasons why is because of the packaging. It also comes with a box that pretty much says most of the stuff that you need to know about the product and a tote bag (forgot to take a pic of it) if you buy the full size. I guess only thing that I don’t like about this product, packaging-wise is that there is no spatula. You will have to dip your fingers into the tub every time you need to use it.

It is said that you’re supposed to use this twice a day, during day and night. But I prefer to use this during night time or whenever I’m about to go to sleep. I don’t use this as a part of my morning routine especially when I’m about to go somewhere due to it’s thick consistency. And when I say thick, it’s really thick. The formula and consistency is really heavy and thick that it’s not really ideal for daytime use unless you’re not going anywhere or you’re going to use it to treat compromised skin.

The texture reminds me of Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme. It’s thick and balmy but a little goes a long way. Further, because it’s thick, it takes a really long time to set. I also use this while at work and it can take a maximum of 6 hours to completely settle on to your skin. Sometimes, I go to sleep and when I wake up, I still feel my face a bit tacky. And yes, when applied, your face will feel very tacky. It can be quite uncomfortable especially if it’s hot. If you have combination to oily skin, you might not like this one.

I have been using this for more than a month now. And sometimes, yes I skip it because the formula’s just way to heavy for me. But still, I can definitely see some results. It reduced my redresses and my face feels soft, smooth and supple every morning which doesn’t really happen when I use an ordinary moisturizer. I have to use a mask in order to get that result.

This cream, as previously mentioned is also for those with compromised skin. Say you have a sunburn, scars or abrasions, it is said that it will help heal those. It’s also meant to be used as an anti-aging cream. The results that they featured in their websites are quite remarkable so I can’t wait for my mom to use this.

Overall, I find that I really like this cream. I didn’t think I would but I did. It’s not like your typical moisturizer, but it’s not everyday that you find a cream that does lots of things. Also, the feeling, when I touch my skin, whenever I wake up, at the moment,  I can’t really compare that to my other moisturizers. Masks, yes, but moisturizers/hydrating creams, no.

This retails for $150 for full size and $15 for deluxe travel size (with $15 off on your next purchase). I guess that’s another con that I can say about this product. The prize, including the fact that they cannot ship outside the US. If you’re on a budget, try the $15 first, and sign up to those shipping services that gives you a US address. It’s kinda costly and tedious but I can say that it’s definitely worth it. Especially if you have dry, sensitive and/or compromised skin.

Never heard about this product before. And I’m not willing to try this hahaha. Cos you said it’s thick, which I don’t like. My current moisturizer is from VMV Hypoallergenics Red Better Daily Theraphy for combination skin.

    • Yes, THICK! Imagine petroleum jelly but a bit more solid and less greasy. Definitely meant for those with dry, compromised & mature skin

Haven’t heard of this cream before and I think I would not buy but I also can try this out of a whim. I do have combination skin so I don’t think I might like it but it would be a great gift for my mom. Though I’m using the olay regenerist sculpting cream every night which hydrates my skin and I loved it As for my moisturizer, I'm using the neutrogena hydro boost

    • Yes, I think it will be great for those with mature or compromised skin. I really do not recommend it for those with combo-oily skin since it’s really thick/ As in.
