May 2016 Faves
Nature Republic Lip & Eye Mild Magic Remover – I bought this during their opening at Robinson’s Place Manila (See the vlog here) and at first I didn’t like it. I was actually hoping it would be like the one from Etude’s but it’s not. It’s not an oil-based makeup remover so it wont be able to remove all of your waterproof makeup. I initially kept it as backup then when I ran out of my usual micellar water, I used it. I noticed that it’s mild enough to use as such but it’s also strong enough to remove eyeliners, mascaras (provided they’re not too waterproof) and lipsticks (except liquid mattes). It’s quite handy indeed.
Measurable Difference Lash & Brow Amplifying Serum – I’ve tried/used tons of products similar to what this product claims, and to be quite honest, none of them worked. But when I tried this, within just a span of 4 weeks, I noticed some difference. My lashes were more defined and they’re no longer stick straight. My bald spots my brows were gone as well. I’m completely astonished!
L’Oreal Lucent Magique Cushion Lumiere – I’ve already told you guys before how I really love this product. It’s very easy to use and it packs a nice coverage. It’s also very portable which is why it became my favorite for the month of May. We’ve been going back and forth to Bulacan and I need something that’s light and compact and this is definitely it.
L’Oreal Mat Magique BB Veil – Another product that I have been loving ever since I got it. I’m so proud of myself because I finally hit pan! Is that weird? Lol.
iWhite BB Holic Everyday BB Cream – I really like this because it’s another portable product. It’s great for short trips, but not so for longer ones because the foil packet can leak. The cream itself is very lightweight and it provides sheer to light yet buildable coverage. I have already reviewed it here.
Tarte Tartelette Palette – This has been an old favorite as well, but I just haven’t been using it quite as often as I would like too. But last month, whenever I want a simple look, I just use this due to it’s all matte shades. I have a review about this as well here.
Pink Sugar Honey I’m Good Brow Gel in ‘Taupe’ – I love this! It’s very pigmented that you can actually use it on its own. Sometimes, I just grab a brow brush apply it directly from the spoolie, then I’m good to go. It’s also good to use as a way to set your powder/pencil/pomade. I’ll do a review for this soon
BYS Brow Gel – I have been looking for a brow gel that I can use as an alternate for my ABH so when I saw this at the Dept store, I got it. The formula is actually nowhere near ABH’s as well as some other aspects, but I like wearing it when I’m running errands or when I’m not going out for too long. See, in terms of longevity, this one’s not really my fave.
Elf Blush Contour Palette in ‘Dark’ – I realized that I have these palettes from ELF but I only use the contour so I decided to use this as well. My favorite shade is actually the one located at the upper left side of the palette. It’s a very neutral shade yet also very pigmented. All of these shades are very pigmented so you really need to be light-handed when it comes to these blushes. I like this because I can just pull apart a single shade in a palette and customize it as much as I want to. Let me know if you want me to do a separate review about these blushes.
Pink Sugar Sugar Tints in ‘Hunny Bunny’ and ‘Queen Bee’ – I really love this two because they’re the perfect neutral shades. Hunny Bunny is what I wear whenever I run errands while Queen Bee is something that I use when I attend events, or go out with my family. It reminds me of the shade, “Desire” from Pink Sugar’s Creamy Matte Line and also Maybelline’s Touch of Spice. I did a review about these newly released lip products here, btw.
Paddle Brush – I got this from GladKing and it does have a brand name imprinted on the handle, I just decided to get rid of it because obvi it’s not from the said brand. I don’t think that brand manufactures brushes, yet. Anyway, as much as I would love to get Artis Brushes, I thought I’d try this one first and see if I will like it and I did. It’s a bit too small for foundation application though. That’s why I only use it for concealers and such. It’s very easy to use and it makes blending such a breeze. I’m planning to buy theone from Suesh because I think it’s a tad bigger.
So those are my favorites for the month of May. I know, most if not some of them were repeats. But nothing’s really changed when it comes to my skincare and makeup routine.
How about you?
