BDJ Box Elite May 2016: Summer Love – A Revlon Exclusive Box | Unboxing & First Impressions

Hi loves! It’s been months since I did an unboxing and I am so excited to share to you my thoughts about last month’s BDJ Elite Box. Just like their previous boxes, May’s BDJ Elite Box is an exclusive collaboration between BDJ and Revlon. I was so excited when I heard about this collaboration because I missed their previous collaboration box. Let’s see if it’s worth it, shall we?

They actually shipped these boxes last June 1, 2016. I know, it’s way late and I’m quite disappointed as well because usually they ship their boxes during the 2nd week of the month, and sometimes on the 20th. But now… Well, let’s just see if the items inside are worth the wait…

Revlon Luminous ColorSilk Buttercream (300 ml | Php 450) – I would love some hair color included in my box, however, I find this a bit too dark, considering that I also have a brown hair, I don’t think it will show. I wish they included a different shade/color instead so it’ll be more usable. But that’s just me.

Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator (30 ml | Php 825) – I’ve been wanting to get this for myself because EmilyNoel83 really liked this. I got the shade “Pink Light” and this shade has a nice pink tint with a ton of silver micro-glitters, it’s actually quite noticeable. It can provide that youthful, radiant glow that you want, but the specks of glitter may be an issue for those with problematic skin. Also, this is not for those who are into really shimmery, intense highlighters. This is a lot more subtle and more beginner-friendly.

Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara (85ml | Php 650) – I found out that over the course of my beauty blogging career, I have been very picky when it comes to mascaras. Because only a few works for me. With that being said, this one didn’t work for me. I tested it out and after three hours, I can feel that it’s still wet. It didn’t dry nor set, it didn’t give me any volume/length. It ruined my face makeup by the end of the day, I was kinda disappointed. I in fact vented about it in my Snapchat. Bottom line is, this is a product that you’re either going to hate or love. As for me, I think I’ll pass. But again, that’s just me.

Revlon PhotoReady Kajal Matte Eye Pencil (122g| Php 575) – Hmmm..  I like the eyeliner because it seems to be smudge-proof, however, I have no idea why would they include a yellow matte eye pencil, considering that not a lot of women who gets this box will be able to use it. Play with it, perhaps, or use it during special occasions, but to fully utilize it? I don’t think so. I wish they just included a more wearable color, like black, brown, grey or dark navy blue even.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color (5.9ml | Php 575) – This is one of my faves in this box. I just wish it’s in a different shade, but regardless, I get why it’s pink, because it’s summer. Nevertheless, I’m glad that they included something that’s recently launched here in this box.

Revlon Nail Enamel (14.7g | Php 225 ) & Revlon Transforming Effects Nail Enamel (14.7g | Php-250) – Okay, I love these. You guys know that I love Revlon Nail Polishes because they’re often good so I’m good with these

Revlon Expert Tweezer; Slant Tip (17g | Php 150) – Yay! New tweezers!

Revlon Diamond Collection Nail File (17g | Php 150) – They already gave us one of these during one of their events way back and I still have it. But nevertheless, it’s still nice to have an extra. But daaaammnnn! That’s already Php 150? Srsly?

So those are all of the items that are included in last year’s BDJ Box Elite. Let me start with my favorite items: I loved the nail polishes, the HD Matte Lip color and the face illuminator is also a good addition to the box. Now with the things that I’m not so cool with, first, the delivery. It arrived this month, instead of last month. They mentioned in their Facebook page that they encountered some issues with regards to the product churva but still, I would be lying if I say I’m not disappointed. Second’s the hair color and the matte eye pencil. Wrong shades, I think. But again, that’s just me. The others are okay, I guess.

These boxes are worth Php 1,480 per box but they promise to give you at least twice of what you paid for. Now let’s see…

Revlon Luminous ColorSilk Buttercream

Revlon Transforming Effects Nail Enamel

Php     450

Php 3,850

If you ask me, BDJ Boxes (Elite or not) are worth it since you always, ALWAYS get double the amount of what you’ve paid for. This includes last month’s edition. With this box you get nearly Php 4,000 worth of not only makeup but also hair and nail care products.

Now do I think it’s worth the wait? Uhm.. I think so, yeah. Since there are a lot more products in this box that I actually like, I think it still is worth the wait. Tbqh, I think it really depends on the person receiving this box/subscriber. Some people, the more they wait, the higher their expectations are, and it’s not that easy to get around that. Given that this box is late, well, you get the idea… For me, this box is a hit and miss. There are items that I liked, and some are like meh..

How about you?

Are you subscribed to May BDJ Box Elite? Do you like it?

What are your thoughts about this box?

Do you like Revlon? What’s your favorite product from the brand?

I didn’t subscribe to their box. Never as in ‘cos my budget sucks. I read a lot of negative feedbacks about this. I even stalked those ladies who got theirs, just to read their comments about BDJ. Hahaha! I never tried their products before.

I’ve always wanted to subscribe to these curated boxes, but I don’t have a steady money inflow yet because I’m still a student and I don’t think I’ll be able to use up all the products I would be receiving. Maybe in the future when I’m more financially stable and more knowledgeable when it comes to beauty and whatnot, I’d give these kinds of services a try. I’ve been drooling about these themed boxes because every blogger that I follow usually has one every month, and I’m really glad about how much they give away in these boxes! Still, watching unboxing videos are very therapeutic for me.

I was planning on subscribing from their beauty box but I will be on a vacation and no one will receive it from our doorsteps I guess I’ll wait for the next one Love subscribing at beauty boxes since it is affordable and let you save some money. I do love Revlon and I love their colorburst lippies Love the shade Tutti Frutti Their nail polishes are great too though I am not a fan on wearing nail polishes so I do buy them and give it to my mom. She loves it hehe

I would love to be subscribed but I saw their previous boxes and I only like 1 or 2 items from the whole set. I do not think that it is worth for my money. I feel like I will only be disappointed every time I open one. =( I love Revlon lippies, like the whole line. HAHA i do not even know why but I always buy one and their nail polishes too! They are too cute whenever I pass by their counters.
