Becca Champagne Glow Palette – Review, Photos & Swatches

Becca Champagne Glow Palette - Review, Photos & Swatches

I’ve always been fond of highlighters. Even when I started beauty blogging, it’s something that I’ve always been looking for in a makeup brand. Some brands nail it, some brands just don’t. I’ve come to realize that in highlighters it’s more of a make it or break it product. You don’t want it to be too glittery otherwise you’ll just emphasize your skin imperfections. You also don’t want it to be too chunky or powder otherwise it just wont last and these types of highlighters are just not good for those with oily skin. So as always, the hunt continues.

What I have here today is the ever famous Becca Champagne Glow Shimmering Skin Perfector Palette it’s the collaboration palette between Becca Cosmetics and the famous YT Guru/MUA Jaclyn Hill. I believe it’s only a Sephora exclusive and sadly it’s no longer available

Becca Champagne Glow Palette - Review, Photos & Swatches

A Sephora-exclusive, curated palette of three limited-edition Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed shades—new Pearl, Blushed Copper, and bestselling Champagne Pop x Jaclyn Hill. This palette is inspired by the festive holiday season. The shimmering shades are designed to enhance your natural beauty and allow your features to glow. Simply sweep the luxuriously creamy luminizing powders across the face or apply to targeted areas including cheekbones, browbones, and bridge of the nose to see how beautifully they catch the light.

The palette’s packaging is soo pretty. You guys know that I love anything with gold so just with the packaging alone, this palette’s a winner. It’s also very sturdy. The plastic is quite thick, and it closes securely so you can definitely travel with it. I also love the fact that the mirror is huge, it allows me to do my entire face makeup using just this mirror alone. The pans, however, are as big as those Clinique Cheek Pop Blushes, so you can definitely fit your usual blush brushes on them.

The palette comes in three shades. Two highlighters: ‘Pearl’ and ‘Champagne Pop’ and one blush ‘Blushed Copper’. All of these shades are extremely pigmented and soft to the touch. All of them have this creamy & buttery consistency too. Well, except maybe ‘Pearl’. While ‘Pearl’ maybe an outstanding shade, I find that it’s a bit powdery and dry compared to the other two. ‘Champagne Pop’ is indeed creamy but not as creamy as let’s say The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer (let me know if you want a review of that one), but it’s still very easy to blend. ‘Blushed Copper’ is also very creamy but it’s a lot more on the metallic than the other two. So I suggest you use either a fan brush or a tapered brush when applying this shade. Also, it can have the tendency to emphasize pores if you over-apply.

As mentioned, all tree shades are ridiculously pigmented so they pack quite a punch. They have this gorgeous metallic sheen so I suggest you use this sparingly if you have an oily skin. They’re not as powdery as the other highlighters I have encountered but you’re still going to encounter some fall-outs especially if you use a fan brush. I also would like suggest that you use the tiniest amount of product as much as possible. It’s better to build it up and start small rather than have a huge streak of highlight (or blush) on your entire face. All three shades, however, despite some minor cons, are very easy to apply and blend.

I have seriously been loving this entire palette. I never thought that I’m going to love each and every shade but I ended up loving all three. Though I have to mention that ‘Champagne Pop’ might not be ideal for those who have really fair skintones. Sure, it says that it’s suitable for all skin tones but it’s just too yellow so if you want that seamless look, having a really yellow highlight is not really the way to go. What I do is I mix both ‘Pearl’ and ‘Champagne Pop’ and their combination is just beautiful. The blush is also exquisite, you just have to be really careful when applying it and try to use a smaller brush. But when you have it? Their combination indeed provides that beautiful ‘champagne glow’.

All in all I am completely head over heels with this palette. I find myself using all three shades whenever I go out, and to think that these are all limited edition shades? I think I’m gonna have a problem because despite how metallic-y these shades are, when you see how gorgeous they are personally, you will understand why I feel the need to slather them on to my face EVERY TIME!

  • Anything that’s gold attracts me too! But then I haven’t tried this one yet or any Becca cosmetics which makes me really sad. I was given a Revlon Highlighting Palette earlier this year but I only use it from time to time, being the makeup noob that I am.
I do understand the importance of highlighting of course pero there’s just not much events for me dress up for therefore, no practice on my part. Maybe I can start practicing my makeup skills kahit nasa bahay lang ako =P

    • Yes! Of course you can. I practice at home A LOT.

Everything jaclyn hill touches is gold so i already expect that this palette will be sold out asap. Too bad i wasn’t able to get my hands on it. I would’ve love to try it but it’s way over my budget so i guess i’ll just settle on my mary lou. Question – Does the blush copper the same color as the betty loumanizer? Have u tried that particular highlight/bronzer?

    • I’m not sure. I don’t own Betty Lou Manizer yet. But based from the swatches that I’ve seen online, I think Betty Lou is more of a bronzer. Blushed Copper has more reddish tones rather than brown.

  • jeremy

I’m so curious na talaga of mary lou manizer. Will this becca could be a great dupe of that?Review mo na lang din yun:D Anyways, this becca palette looks really good. From its pretty packaging to its complement shades and its performance knowing that you really love it means this is a worth to try. For its price, I think it works exceptionally well:) Great review btw plus may mga tips ka pa. I remember the first highlighter I’ve tried was from avon , it was very good that it makes me drawn to try other highlighter products. My fave as of now is I agree that when it comes to highlighter it comes to make it or break it:D

    • No. Mary Lou Manizer is lighter than Champagne pop & more golden than Pearl since Pearl is stark white. Even if you combine Champagne Pop & Mary Lou Manizer the outcome is still different.

I would say that the 1st brick of the in2it Warm Glow is a close dupe of Mary Lou Manizer (In2it is just a bit more chunky and less metallic)

      • jeremy

I should have bought the warm glow instead. Next time:D thanks for the reco!

  • jeremy

Try In2It highlighter (pearl powder bricks) in the shade candy, para syang Revlon but for me the glitters is less noticeable and finer too. Nabili ko sya nung sale matagal na:D less than 500 ata na lang. So far, I like it.

    • I have the In2it Highlighter in (a href= “http://www.yettezkiedoodle.com/2013/01/27/in2it-facial-highlighters-in-warm-glow-photos-swatches-review/” target= “blank”>Warm Glow although I’m not sure if they came out with new ones. It’s good, yes.

      • jeremy

I think they are some new shades, mas mahal na nga sya ngayon. Warm glow looks good, its lighter compare to candy pearl powder bricks that I bought. Bit powdery nga lang.

what a beautiful palette.. yayamanin sa packaging pa lang(^.^) parang natural glow lang in your face sya, awesome. champagne pop is so pretty(^.^)
i’ve seen some local highlighters in the market but I thought that some glitters of them were too big, they were actually like little diamond flecks(^.^) actually, I do like it and find it prettier because the little girl in me loves glitter.
i really love to have this becca palette but the practical person in me wants something less in price..kuripot pa ako ngayon but who knows po one day magkakaroon din ako nito.. by the way, i’ve seen one from your past haul the shawill and swatched it the other day, i might give that a try first.
    advance happy birthday po pala(^。^)丿

    • Thank you!

Try In2it Highlighters They’re good and budget-friendly. A bit powdery but still creamy. You can also try the Golden Bronzer from Elf Studio or the ones from Shawill (although the highlighters from Shawill are a bit dry but they’re still good)

      • Kathleen Joy Uy Oliva

thank you po for the recommendations(^.^) it means a lot.. ilista ko po lahat ng ‘to para matry ko sa tamang panahon..hihi.
        happy birthday ma’am yette(^~^)

Yassss!!! I’ve been waiting for this review ♥ Ever since you view this on your big haul, I already loved it ♥ It looks good and the glowing palette rocks ♥ Although it’s pricey hehe pero mukhang swak naman sa bulsa ♥ The shades are to die for and I love champagne colors lalo na yung pearl It will be soon your birthday na on 15 so I might as well greet you an Advance Happy Birthday po Ms. Yette ♥ xo

    • Thank you!

For me it is actually worth it because a full size costs like Php 2,000 (per Luxola) and these are highlighters so it’s not really easy to hit pan on these so sulit na ren

      • Zahra Zadeh

agreed ♥ thanks for replying Ms. Yette ♥ made my night

  • jeremy

Happy Happy Birthday!! Wish you a good health and more blessings to come! Enjoy your special day!
Thank you so much for everything!❤

Pearl looks pretty! I’ve never tried a star white highlighter on my face before. How does it compare to more champagne/gold/yellow-y ones?

CJ | From Manila with Love: Beauty, Life & Feminism

    • It’s really white… If you’re into strobing this should be your go to. It’s like Tinkerbell sprinkled way to many pixie dust on your cheeks.

    • Checkout Nikkietutorials’ latest vid. She used Pearl as her highlight.

From the moment I’ve seen this on your FB, I fell in love with it. It’s really really pretty especially the packaging! The shades are gorgeous too. Too bad Sephora exclusive lang and hindi na siya available. I super love the blush, it looks so natural pero not the usual coral/peach shade. I love the highlighters too, especially the champagne pop. It’s just the right amount of gold that would really emphasize the face. I love how shimmery the pearl shade is too. It’s just so perfect.
