Becca Champagne Glow Palette – Review, Photos & Swatches
I’ve always been fond of highlighters. Even when I started beauty blogging, it’s something that I’ve always been looking for in a makeup brand. Some brands nail it, some brands just don’t. I’ve come to realize that in highlighters it’s more of a make it or break it product. You don’t want it to be too glittery otherwise you’ll just emphasize your skin imperfections. You also don’t want it to be too chunky or powder otherwise it just wont last and these types of highlighters are just not good for those with oily skin. So as always, the hunt continues.
What I have here today is the ever famous Becca Champagne Glow Shimmering Skin Perfector Palette it’s the collaboration palette between Becca Cosmetics and the famous YT Guru/MUA Jaclyn Hill. I believe it’s only a Sephora exclusive and sadly it’s no longer available
A Sephora-exclusive, curated palette of three limited-edition Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed shades—new Pearl, Blushed Copper, and bestselling Champagne Pop x Jaclyn Hill. This palette is inspired by the festive holiday season. The shimmering shades are designed to enhance your natural beauty and allow your features to glow. Simply sweep the luxuriously creamy luminizing powders across the face or apply to targeted areas including cheekbones, browbones, and bridge of the nose to see how beautifully they catch the light.
The palette’s packaging is soo pretty. You guys know that I love anything with gold so just with the packaging alone, this palette’s a winner. It’s also very sturdy. The plastic is quite thick, and it closes securely so you can definitely travel with it. I also love the fact that the mirror is huge, it allows me to do my entire face makeup using just this mirror alone. The pans, however, are as big as those Clinique Cheek Pop Blushes, so you can definitely fit your usual blush brushes on them.
The palette comes in three shades. Two highlighters: ‘Pearl’ and ‘Champagne Pop’ and one blush ‘Blushed Copper’. All of these shades are extremely pigmented and soft to the touch. All of them have this creamy & buttery consistency too. Well, except maybe ‘Pearl’. While ‘Pearl’ maybe an outstanding shade, I find that it’s a bit powdery and dry compared to the other two. ‘Champagne Pop’ is indeed creamy but not as creamy as let’s say The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer (let me know if you want a review of that one), but it’s still very easy to blend. ‘Blushed Copper’ is also very creamy but it’s a lot more on the metallic than the other two. So I suggest you use either a fan brush or a tapered brush when applying this shade. Also, it can have the tendency to emphasize pores if you over-apply.
As mentioned, all tree shades are ridiculously pigmented so they pack quite a punch. They have this gorgeous metallic sheen so I suggest you use this sparingly if you have an oily skin. They’re not as powdery as the other highlighters I have encountered but you’re still going to encounter some fall-outs especially if you use a fan brush. I also would like suggest that you use the tiniest amount of product as much as possible. It’s better to build it up and start small rather than have a huge streak of highlight (or blush) on your entire face. All three shades, however, despite some minor cons, are very easy to apply and blend.
I have seriously been loving this entire palette. I never thought that I’m going to love each and every shade but I ended up loving all three. Though I have to mention that ‘Champagne Pop’ might not be ideal for those who have really fair skintones. Sure, it says that it’s suitable for all skin tones but it’s just too yellow so if you want that seamless look, having a really yellow highlight is not really the way to go. What I do is I mix both ‘Pearl’ and ‘Champagne Pop’ and their combination is just beautiful. The blush is also exquisite, you just have to be really careful when applying it and try to use a smaller brush. But when you have it? Their combination indeed provides that beautiful ‘champagne glow’.
All in all I am completely head over heels with this palette. I find myself using all three shades whenever I go out, and to think that these are all limited edition shades? I think I’m gonna have a problem because despite how metallic-y these shades are, when you see how gorgeous they are personally, you will understand why I feel the need to slather them on to my face EVERY TIME!
