Quick Review: Laneige Sleeping Masks (+ Event Photos)
Sleeping masks, to be quite honest, is not really my thing. I’ve always depended upon my usual nightly skin care routine… you know, cleanse, tone and moisturize. That’s it. Till I encountered the Laneige Sleeping Masks. I’ve been using this duo ever since I got them (I use the Water Sleeping Mask 3x a week, and I use the Lip Sleeping Mask every night) and I must say these babies helped me relax and sleep a whole lot better.
Let’s start with the Water Sleeping Mask…
Product Claims according to the Laneige Website
An Intensive Moisture Sleep Mask that purifies with Sleeptox™ through the night, to leave the skin clear and revitalized the next morning, as if the skin too, had a good night sleep.
This, I believe is Laneige’s 4th Generation Water Sleeping Mask. First one, was last 2002 (Water Sleeping Pack), then 2005 (Water Sleeping Pack Plus) then the third one was last 2009 (Water Sleeping Pack_EX) which was a cult favorite. I’ve never had the pleasure of trying anyone of those, so I really can’t tell you what’s the diff, aside from clearly the packaging. But from according to Laneige, this generation has the following: Sleeptox™, Moisture Wrap™ and Sleepscent™
Sleeptox™ per Laneige, restores and repairs the skin damages caused by various external aggressors during the day. Moisture Wrap™ acts like a porous moisture film that locks in moisture through the night. Finally, Sleepscent™ induces deep sleep and relaxes the body and mind.
As mentioned, I prefer to use this mask three times a week and I use it on top of my usual nightly skincare routine. It has a gel-like consistency and it’s very lightweight so even those with oily skin wont have a problem using this. I like that it provides a cooling sensation when being applied and it smells very relaxing too (that’s the Sleepscent™ working ;).
If you’re like me whose body clock is just plain messy. You don’t have a specific schedule when it comes to sleeping, and you’re also in need of a good skincare product, then look no further. This solves both problems for you. I’ve been using this sleeping mask for months now and I can definitely see visible results. My skin feels softer, a lot more supple, and fresh each and every night I use it. Plus, I sleep better too!
Now on to the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Product Claims according to the Laneige Website:
Gently erases dry, flaky skin on the skin through the night to realize smooth and supple lips.
This has been my fave! You loves know that I’m such a sucker for lip balms, or any lip treatments so when I saw this I was like ‘YAAAASSS!!!’. I use this every night, and sometimes even when I feel like my lips are just completely DRY. It’s very hydrating and I’m head over heels with the scent too!
Just like the Water Sleeping Pack, this comes with Moisture Wrap™ Overnight Moisture Lock-In – Laneige’s exclusive technology whereby dense hyaluronic acid mineral network holding abundant moisture, forms a moisturizing film over the skin surface like a wrap, locking in active ingredients that helps the skin absorb and retain moisture through the night. It also has Berry Mix Complex™ Vitamin C Intensive Care, containing raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry extracts erases dry, flaky, dead skin on the lips during the night to realize smooth and supple lips next morning.
This lip sleeping mask, has more of like a balmy consistency, but compared to other lip treatments or balms, this does not settle easily, While it does moisturize your lips in an instant, the proper way to use this is to use it as an overnight lip mask (as obviously indicated).
Using the applicator provided, I apply a thick layer onto my lips and then head on to bed for a good night sleep. In the morning, or once I wake up, I wipe away the excess, using a tissue or better yet with wet wipes to get rid of the residue. Trust me, this will be the love of your life (or lips?) once you start using this.
Now I would like to apologize, really, for the delay of this particular ‘post’. This event update should’ve been up like months ago. I’m not going to feed you with more excuses, but long story short, things just keep piling up one after the other.
Last July 7th, one rainy night, we were invited by Laneige at their sparty (it was my first sparty to be quite honest and I’ve never had more fun!). It was held at the Blue Water Day Spa in Greenhills. With me were my fellow beauty bloggers, Celline, Kim, Phia, Joyce and Say. During the sparty, they launched these products and they told us what’s new about them.
They gave us our own personalized robes, our own fluffy pillow and a complete, body massage (which was awesome btw :P). All of us were pampered from head to toe and were given the option to have our hair, makeup and nails done. Since I was just going to report for work that night, I opted not to get my hair, makeup & nails done. But the massage was more than enough, I tell you.
We were also presented with these delicious and yummy sweets. Each of them had their own label, saying either ‘Good night’ or ‘Sweet dreams’. It’s very much like a pajama party. If only I don’t have work that night, I swear right after that event, I’ll go straight to bed.
During the event, they also gave us the opportunity to try out some of their best sellers, and also their new releases, while also discussing what’s new about the 2015 Water Sleeping Mask. Seriously, loves, this event… it’s just one if not the most, relaxing event I’ve ever been to. Hoo boy!
Overall, I had tons of fun during the Laneige Sleeping Beauty Sparty. Special thanks to Ms. Mela for inviting me to the said event and giving me the opportunity to try these products. Shame, I was not able to post this right away. But nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you have any thoughts about this product, or if you have tried them already. Let me know your thoughts, comments, etc. I would love to hear what you have to say about them.
