Jord Wood Watch in Ely Series (Maple)
I’m not a fashionista per se which is pretty evident in my blog posts. I only buy clothes, bags, accessories and watches when necessary. My watches can last for years and I don’t mind. That’s why when Jord, a company that produces wood watches contacted me and asked me if I wanted to work with them, without hesitation, I absolutely agreed.
From the Jord Website:
TIME HONORED STYLE…
Our hometown of St. Louis has a downtown dotted with historic brick buildings. Varying in size and structure the modest designs have remained relevant to the modern day businesses and homes that now inhabit them, like the Ely Walker Warehouse – now lofts – that our Ely is named for. Its classic styling and construction has stood the test of time. Time honored style will find no lack of appreciation in the present day.
I first heard about Jord Watches through Michelle of Micmic’s Corner. I believe she also chose Ely but she picked a different color or rather wood. I read her post and I must say, I was astonished by how pretty those wooden watches looked like. I loved the craftsmanship and I love the idea behind it.
The one I picked is the Ely Series in ‘Maple’, it’s the lightest color among the three (also comes in Cherry and Maple) and I figured that it will match almost everything I wear on a day to day basis. Ely Series is worth $129 (roughly Php 5,937 as of 10/19). They asked me to download and print the Jord Wrist Sizer, so that they can get an accurate measurement of my wrist
My size is about 17-18 cm but they still gave me an extra part just in case. My watch was able to fit right in, but I kept wishing I gave a bigger size just because I’m used to wearing loose watches, lol.
I also love the detailing. Every part of this watch has been beautifully handcrafted even at the part where you open/close the watch. There’s a detail in every corner, it’s beautiful.
The watch’s brand/logo is also beautifully carved at the back of the watch. I also like that it gives you further details about the watch.
Shipping took 6-7 weeks and I believe they offer free worldwide shipping. Since the box states that the item is a gift, I believe I only paid for like Php 280 (I don’t remember the exact amount, sorry :P).
Box includes the main watch, an extra part, warranty cards, and another card with the hashtag #JORDWATCH. The box is carton but it’s sturdy and it has a cushion so you can place your wood watch there in case you’re not using it.
The watch also features a deployment buckle with push-button stainless steel, allowing you to easily wear or remove your watch. And as mentioned, I love the detailing near the buckle.
As previously mentioned, I’m not a fashionista, so I don’t really mix and match my accessories. I prefer to wear my watches according to my mood. And lately, ever since I picked this up, this is the only watch I’ve been wearing. I prefer to wear this alone in my left arm but sometimes, I also pair it with a thin bracelet.
Per the Jord Website, the natural green sandalwood and maple is hand finished and pretreated with tung oils. The Ely is splash-proof but should not be submerged in water (3 ATM). Should you wish to clean your wood watches, you can use lemon or orange oil extract.
I am really happy with my Jord Ely Maple watch and I definitely recommend this to all my watch lovers out there! Especially those who are looking for unique and quality watches. You may have to wait due to the shipping and pay extra but it’s definitely worth the moolah and the wait, trust me!
