Weekly Raves: Chanel CC Cream

Weekly Raves: Chanel CC Cream

I don’t know a lot about CC creams because (a) I don’t own more than one and (b) for some reason, I just didn’t bother trying them. This was actually a gift and I don’t usually buy foundations that costs more than a thousand bucks. This is way out of my price range, tbqh.

Anyway, I actually have a love-hate relationship with this CC cream. It wasn’t my favorite at first because it’s very yellow-toned and it has a strong floral scent. I usually don’t mind scented makeup products but this is a bit overwhelming for my taste. Aside from the fact that it just doesn’t match my skintone.

As much as I do love artsy, unique packaging, I must say, I actually love the packaging of this one as well. It’s simple, sleek and classy packaging makes it so ‘fitting’ for the brand (Can I say that? ‘Fitting’? Oh well..). It’s also quite convenient too. It comes in a squeeze-tube packaging so you can get how much product you want with ease.

This CC cream has a drier consistency and if you’re used to BB creams or foundations that are really moisturizing then you might want to steer clear of this formula. Perhaps it was one of the reasons why I wasn’t quite fond of this product before. I find it too drying for my skin type. It’s not as easy to blend like most of my other liquid bases which kinda drove me nuts. It can also emphasize the dry areas of your face so it is essential that you moisturize before using this product.

So then you might be wondering, ‘what’s there to love?’. The CC cream provides up to SPF 30/PA+++ protection plus other benefits such as anti-aging, etc. I know you can get all of these benefits using other skincare products but what I also like about this is the finish it gives. Provided that you prep your skin properly, you can look flawless with this one and that’s why I’m very impressed. Not to mention the longevity. I can wear this for 6 hours straight WITHOUT a primer WITHOUT it looking patchy at the end of the day. I think if you have oily/combo skin, then this is going to work for you as well.

As I’ve said, I’m head over heels obsessed with this product and I really can’t get enough of it. I thank my friend for giving this to me otherwise I wouldn’t have the luxury of trying it. It’s something I wouldn’t even think of buying. You pretties know that I’m a lipstick/blush/palette hoarder. I don’t pay much attention to high-end or mid-range fondies/bb/cc creams. Guess it’s time to explore.

  • I don’t really use CC creams, but I am somewhat attracted to the minimalist packaging! But same here, I won’t go over 1000 when it comes to these. Great detailed review!

  • I haven’t tried that fondie yet. Thanks for the suggestion

Like you, I don’t want to spend more than 1k just for a foundation or double lettered creams. Lalo na kung konti lang laman. Good to know you liked this product. Kung hindi, sayang naman. Chanel is chanel. Haha. What I like best about it is the packaging. I always consider how easy it is to dispense foundations eh. As for the CC creams, I’m not so fond of using them, so I switch from one brand to another. I also like buying more lipsticks, eyeshadows ad blushes than the other makeups.

    • This is actually my first and only CC cream. No idea about how others perform but so far I’ve been loving this recently
