Wet ‘N’ Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in ‘Sweet As Candy’ – Review, Photos & Swatches

Wet 'N' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in 'Sweet As Candy' - Review, Photos & Swatches

Hi loves! To conclude our series of Wet ‘N’ Wild reviews, I thought I should end it with my favorite line of Wet ‘N’ Wild products. I really like Wet ‘N’ Wild’s eyeshadow trios because not only do they offer a nice pigmentation but they’re also handy. You also don’t need to fuss about a ton of shades, just like other WnW eyeshadow palettes, every shade is outlined as to how you’re going to use it. It’s very convenient and practical.

Product Claims/Details according to WNWBeauty:
Coordinating trio shades takes the guesswork out of creating the perfect eye look. The “how to” palettes are created to highlight, define, and accentuate specific eye colors to create unique looks.

Nothing much to say here. You pretties all know what a Wet ‘N’ Wild products are contained in this simple, black, plastic packaging with clear lid. It has a slot for your sponge and brush tip applicator which you can actually use. Each shade is marked according to how you can use them. And again, similar to other WnW eyeshadow & blushes, the packaging of this one feels and looks cheap and flimsy. You have to be careful with this one if you’re going to bring it with you when you’re traveling.

This trio right off the pan looks like a combination of pink and brown (which is a combo that I really like) but when applied, the shades are lot more sheerer than I expected. They are of course pigmented, as usual and they offer a decent color pay off, but they’re just a tad bit shimmery for my taste.

For reference, the ‘browbone’ shade is a light cream shade. The ‘crease’ shadow is a brown shade and quite sheerer than I expected. You need to build it up in order to contour your crease. Finally, the ‘eyelid’ shade, which actually looks like a warm pink shade right off the pan, but when swatched/applied, looks more of like a pinkish-lilac shade. It’s really shimmery for my taste and definitely a lot sheerer. It’s buildable, but the more you build it up, the less you see how pink it’s supposed to be.

In fairness, all of my WnW eyeshadow trios have the same formulation and texture. They’re all soft and creamy and they’re not powdery or chalky. I didn’t encounter any fall outs either.

I never had any issues with WnW when it comes to their eyeshadow products. They’re very easy to apply and blend. You can definitely use your fingers or the brushes included. These shadows lasted on me for more than 4 hours without a primer. Although without a primer, they wont be as vibrant and you will really have to build it up.

Compared to the other trios, I think this is the one that I’m not too fond off. Sure I like WnW eyeshadow trios but like I said, this was just way to shimmery for me. I guess I was expecting a bit more color with this one? Not that this doesn’t have any color payoff. It does. But it was quite deceiving. I guess I was expecting it to be a bit more pink compared to what you see in the photos above. It’s still useful for day to day makeup and you can definitely wear it for work/school. Other than that, I still like this one.
If you like these types of shades then go for it. Besides, you have a lot of options to choose from. My favorite is actually ‘Walking on Eggshells’ so if you’re not too keen on this one, maybe you’ll like that
Perhaps a different shade.

All in all, I think Wet ‘N’ Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios are still a great buy. I’m just not totally a fan of this palette, I guess, but like I said, you have a tons of other trios to choose from and it’s definitely worth the price. It’s great for beginners and if you’re new into makeup WnW makeup is definitely worth checking out.

Whatever changes you will do Ms. Yette , we are still here to support yah!
    More power! :*

    • Yeah mine too. My Walking on Eggshells palette is broken so I can’t bring it with me whenever I travel. It’s just in my storage.

      Thanks, Hannah! :*

I like the color combination of this palette and its very affordable too. Its just that i dont like too much shimmery. They should at least make the brown and white color matte. #justsaying

    • Yeah I completely agree.. If you don’t like shimmery shades, then this palette is not for you.

  • I think this palette is a fun take on the natural look. The colors complement each other and this is perfect for everyday wear since I face customers everyday I love that this gave me a natural subtle look. The colors blend together nicely, offering decent pigmentation without being messy.

I did not expect more on their packaging because I have tried some of their products and I did not like the way it was packaged especially the lipsticks.

this palette really will assist in achieving a neutral and natural look. Thumbs up!.I am happy enough with it that I don’t feel the need to spend big bucks on Urban Decay’s matte palette.

the applicator disappointed me “a lot” so i just use my charm blending brushes on my wnw #332 palette i cannot use it most of the time because im more into natural shades lately

    • You should use it some time. It’s not as intimidating as it look.

  • Hi Yette, I see this has the same sort of color “family” as Walking on Eggshells. Do you have that? How would you compare the two?

    • Yes, I do. Walking on Eggshells is actually a bit more pigmented and you can really see the eyelid shade of that one compared to this one which looks more like a pinkish lilac when it’s already on your eyelid. Hope that helps

I have a WnW trio but the colorful one in the white case. Same as with this trio, it’s creamy, and has no fallouts. It’s more pigmented nga lang. I use the brush too. It’s pretty okay naman especially for travel.
