2014 Beauty Faves: Skincare & Body

Hi loves so here’s the most anticipated part 2 of my 2014 Beauty faves series. I’m really happy that we’re almost done with this so that I can resume reviewing products for you. I have a lot of exciting stuff for you and I’m sure if you’re following me via instagram (you should, you know? :P) you probably have an idea what they are by now.

Anyway, without further ado. Here are my faves.

2014 Beauty Faves: Skincare & Body

Dove Daily Hair Vitamins – Ever since I got these from a BDJ box I’ve been repurchasing it ever since. I love how it makes my hair look after application. My hair feels really soft and smooth and easily manageable. If you know me, I really don’t care about my hair. I just comb it in place then I’m good to go. This one makes the job easier.

Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo – Since my hair is really fine I need all the help I can get. I love this because it’s really volumizing and it lives up to its claims. I just feel bad because it’s often out of stock at MUH.

2014 Beauty Faves: Skincare & Body

Belo Essentials AcnePro Pimple Fighting Gel Face Wash, Treatment Toner & Pimple Gel (not shown in photo) – I forgot to include the pimple gel in the photo but these trio WOWED me. I never expected to like this skincare trio this much. If you remembered my Glamourbox Unboxing Video I mentioned that I might have no use for these products. I was wrong. You see, I may not have an acne prone skin but this prevents me from having pimples. These got rid of my weird bumps and it also got rid of those redness and discolorations that completely buzzed the crap out of me. This also don’t dry out my skin. I have normal to dry skin and this never gave me problems. Long story short, this became my holy grail skincare products.

TCFS Pumpkin Sleeping Pack – I also got this from one of my BDJ boxes. To be quite honest, I wasn’t really sure about this one when I got it. But I did some research and one blogger claimed that this whole thing replaced her entire nightly regimen. I tried it and it did impress me. It became my moisturizer and serum in one. I woke up feeling my skin soft and supple. Of course, I still apply toner and eye cream but for serum & moisturizer, this one totally replaced those products.

Isehan Sunkiller Perfect Strong Plus SPF 50+++ – This has been my favorite sunscreen ever since I got it. Truth be told, in my entire skin care routine, sunscreen is the one that I often forget to apply. This one became my game changer because it’s very lightweight and it’s a good base for my makeup routine.

Olay Aquaction Long Lasting Hydration Gel – I’m all for moisturizers, you pretty much know that about me already. I have a normal to dry skin but this one really works well for me. I love this because it’s very lightweight and works great under makeup.

Ellana Minerals Strawberry Vanilla Lip Scrub – Well, this is a no brainer. If you’ve been reading my blog for quite some time, you know that I Lah-ove this product. I usually do a DIY lip scrub, to be honest, but ever since i got this, I seriously can’t get enough of it. You can read more about it here.

2014 Beauty Faves: Skincare & Body

Bifesta Agecare Cleansing Lotion – Actually, I love all variants of Bifesta cleansing lotions. They work really well in removing my foundation and non-waterproof makeup. They’re not as harsh as the ones I’ve tried before and to be quite honest, if I’m feeling really tired, I can go ahead and slam myself to bed (though this is obviously not advisable)

Bifesta Eye Makeup Remover – This one takes even the most stubborn mascaras I’ve ever had. Korean/Japan-made mascaras are such a pain to remove but this one makes it a lot easier. All I need is to douse my cotton pad with this product, leave it for 10-15 seconds, wipe it gently then they’re gone.

2014 Beauty Faves: Skincare & Body

Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream – I got this during Burt’s Bees 30th Birthday Celebration then I decided to stash it for a while. Then I saw it at Genzel’s blog and she’s been raving about so I thought why not try it. I felt so bad for not trying it the moment I got it because this is an awesome product. If you have dry hands or if you really like hand lotions that are really moisturizing (lol, who doesn’t? :P) then I highly recommend this one. It’s not greasy, it smells good and the packaging is really cute too.

The Body Shop White Musk EDT and Lanvin Eclat – These have been my signature scents for the past year. I’m actually looking for a new perfume to become my signature scent since I really don’t want to ‘totally’ empty these bottles. I want to have a little of them left so that I can at least use them if in case I miss the scent. Does that make sense? Lol. Oh well, any recommendations?

So those are all of my favorite skincare & body care products for the year 2014. I admit they’re not as many compared to the previous year. To be quite honest, 2014 has been weird for me in terms of my skincare routine. I experienced a ton of breakouts and I had to stick to just one skincare regimen for months ’cause when I change things that’s when my skin totally flips. Oh and body care-wise, I still use the same ‘ol products.

I hope you find this blog post quite entertaining and if you have any thoughts, feel free to place a comment down below.

How about you? What were your favorite products last year? Let me know

I really want to try everything from your list like the olay hydrating gel and the cute pumpkin sleeping mask! I think even we’re in a tropical country, moisturizing our face is really needed to have soft and gentle skin.
Until now, I'm using the face shop green tea waterfull emulsion in the morning and physiogel cream during night time.

    • I still rely on moisturizers even though my skin is pretty unpredictable these days. Sometimes it’s normal to dry but sometimes I get oily for some reason. Sometimes I skip everything but not my moisturizer.

  • Aegeane Mikka Brioso

I’ve been eyeing on that Belo thingy but I am afraid to use chemical-based products again because I’ve got a bad experience before and my derma told me to stop using creams, toners etc. Pero now, gusto ko na ulit gumamit since nakapagpahinga na naman ang face ko, haha! #kikayproblems. Anyways, gusto ko din matry yan! Baka yan ang sikreto sa magandang kutis gaya ng iyo Ms. Yette! I really envy how your skin looks very smooth, poreless and glowing. Y_Y I have a sensitive skin and sana it’ll work for me too! Was thinking if this one has also whitening properties? or pang acne lang talaga? Thank you for sharing your holy grail!!
And oh, are you using scrubs sa face and body?

    • Hi Aegeane! You should consult your derma first before trying it. Sayang naman baka makasama ulet. Belo has some whitening products as well, but I don’t think this is one of them.

And yes, I use scrubs, I love the St. Ives Green Tea Facial Scrub. Forgot to mention it here

Wow! Now I’m curiossooo about the Belo Set I might grab one of those. I have oily skin and although I’m not having that much pimples anymore I still get to have one or two when it’s that time of the month. I have tried other Belo products in the past like their lotions and the Vitamin Night Cream and I super like it. Like you really wake up feeling beautiful hehe. Anyway, thankee for sharing this!

    • Hi Carissa! Belo Essentials AcnePro set is great even if you don’t have acne prone skin. It acts as a good preventive measure. At least for me, lol

      • Carissa Posion

I agree, when it comes to skincare kailangan tlga sipag at consistency for any product to work.

  • abegaill villacruz

I wanted to try the isehan sunscreen and the olay hydration gel. They look so good for my skin and face. I have tried almost everything on your list as I’ve read good reviews from you. As for perfumes naman, I easily get habituated with scents, so I usually switch colognes/perfumes/edt after 2 months.

    • Oh, I wish I’m like that when it comes to scents. I wish I was that adventurous, lol.

  • Where did you buy that dry shampoo? One of my batchmates brought one to our pictorial and it was such a lifesaver to a friend when the hairdresser put on oil on her hair to her utter disgust/dismay. I think need one to freshen up for post-duty days.

  • im using dove hair vitamins and its great

  • How do you use the Batiste Dry Shampoo? I’m intrigued about this product.
