September 2014 Faves
Hi loves! I apologize for not being totally online lately. If you’ve been following me in my social media sites, you’ll know that I’ve been barely online ever since last Sunday. Blame it to Sims 4! Darn it! I was very addicted to Sims 1, 2 and 3 to the point that I had to uninstall them just so I can get some work done and now I don’t even know why I had to have one installed here in my laptop.. It’s happening all over again! Aaah! Anyway, I’m keeping my cool and I promise to give you more updates and do more reviews and whatever. I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts.
Anyway, I know that this is way late and again I’m sorry for that. Here are my faves
Belo AcnePro Skincare Set
I know, I know. I mentioned in my previous Glamourbox Unboxing post that I might have no use for this but guess what?! I had tons of bumps and tiny pimples last month so I ended up trying this set for myself and I must say, even though I no longer have those tiny bumps, (which this set totally got rid of) I am still using them all. They’re not as harsh compared to those acne prone skincare products that I have tried before that ends up drying my skin after. This is actually nice even for preventive measures. I actually recommended this to one of my nieces and it got rid of her pimples too!
Dove Intense REpair Daily Hair Vitamin
I lah-ove this! Makes my hair really soft, smooth and shiny. It does not feel heavy nor does it weigh my hair down. It doesn’t feel like any of those hair oils that you apply that makes your hair feel quite icky. This is completely lightweight and it makes your hair really stand out. I love it.
FACE: QuickFX No Shine Mattifier, Heroine Make BB Loose Powder, Artdeco Camouflage Cream Concealer in #8 and Pixy UV Whitening Two Way Cake Perfect Fit Foundation in ‘Golden Beige’
Ever since Genzel and I did the Top 5 Under 500 Makeup Products Collaboration, I finally decided to take her word and really buy one of the QuickFX No Shine Mattifier primers. And I must say, it’s really REALLY good. Even my mama who actually has an oily skin, really loves it and she can’t believe that it’s only roughly Php 90.
I love Heroine Make BB Loose Powder because I only need to use concealer underneath. It also gives great coverage and it doesn’t emphasize the dry lines of my face. It’s definitely one of the products that I use when I don’t want to put a lot of makeup on.
As for the Artdeco Camouflage Cream Concealer, I’ve been having one too many concealers that I actually forgot I had this in my stash. This has an awesome coverage but one thing that I really don’t like about this is that it’s not as creamy so it doesn’t glide on easily. You have to warm it with your fingers in order to apply it and cover up your blemishes. I wouldn’t advice you to use this for the under the eye area since it has a thicker texture. But other than that, this concealer provides a great coverage and a little definitely goes a long way.
Pixy UV Whitening Two Way Cake Perfect Fit Foundation in ‘Golden Beige’ has been my touch up buddy for weeks now. It has a faint makeup/foundation-y scent that I actually like for some reason and the coverage is just awesome. I don’t mind using the sponge as well. It doesn’t ruin my makeup nor does it cake up in some areas. This totally replaced my other 2-way cake/compact foundations.
CHEEKS: Catrice Defining Blush in ‘Rosewood Forest’ and Tarte Minteral Powder Bronzer in ‘Hotel Heiress’
These two products have been with me for the longest. When I want to really contour my cheeks, I use the Tarte Minteral Powder Bronzer in ‘Hotel Heiress’ to warm up my face and then use some cold/taupe-ish shades to really do some heavy contouring. I don’t really wear bronzers with shimmers on this product is barely noticeable, it just gives you a beautiful, radiant glow. I’ve also been loving my Catrice Defining Blush in ‘Rosewood Forest’ and it’s been my goto blush ever since I got it. I love using it especially for times when I have a nude or plummy lipstick. It’s pigmented and it lasts long on my cheeks.
EYES:Pixy Eyeshadow in Sorrel Brown 02′, Wet N’ WIld Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Vanity’, Heroine Make Quick Eyeliner, Jazzy Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel & Heroine Make Eyelash Curler
Pixy Eyeshadow in Sorrel Brown 02′ is awesome, but it only contains two shades so I have to incorporate either a highlighter or a transition shade and that’s why I’ve also been using my Wet N’ WIld Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Vanity’. They’re both very pigmented and they last long on my lids. Together they’re a really great combo.
As for the Heroine Make Quick Eyeliner, I know I often include eyeliners in my faves post but this is really different, compared to my In2It which I have included before. This one doesn’t fade and it doesn’t smudge (as much). The only thing that I don’t like about this is that it’s not as creamy and it’s not as black as my previous eyeliners. But I think it’s because of its dry texture as to why it stays longer on my waterline. Still, the search continues for my perfect eyeliner. Until then, you’ll probably see me including eyeliners in my faves a few more times. Lol
The Jazzy Cosmetics Eyebrow Gel takes a bit of getting used to especially when you’re used to using pencil or powder products for your brows. A tiny bit of this product can go a long way and it can definitely give that full, definition to your brows. But if you’re like me who likes to use two-three shades of products to fully define your brows, then this might not be for you. But it’s definitely cheaper than most of the gel products that are out there in the market today.
LIPS: Pixy Silky Fit Satin Lipstick in ‘Soft Rose’, Mac Creamsheen Lipstick in ‘Goddess Of The Sea’ and Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Lip Balm
These have been my go to lip products for the past month. The Pixy Silky Fit Satin Lipstick in ‘Soft Rose’ is my fave MLBB shade. It’s very moisturizing and though it fades quite easily, it’s still very easy to apply even without a mirror, lol. I did a review about it here.
While the Mac Creamsheen Lipstick in ‘Goddess Of The Sea’ is something that I’ve been looking forward to have for quite some time now. Goddess Of The Sea has a plummy shade than can be muted down as your MLBB shade but it’s also very buildable making the shade a bit more fall-appropriate. It’s definitely darker and more intense than Mac Plumful and more blue-toned than Mac Rebel.
Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Lip Balm is definitely a lot more moisturizing compared to the other lip balms from the Baby Lips line. It has a minty scent/flavor and it’s very lightweight. It works effective as a primer to some other lipsticks as well.
Essence Ultra Strong Nail Hardener, L’oreal Nail Polish in ‘Noble Mingle’ and China Glaze Nail Polish in ‘Midnight Mission’
I’ve been using the Essence Ultra Strong Nail Hardener as my base coat. The main reason as to why it’s here is because so far, my nails don’t chip as much any more at least ever since I used this. I would like to think that it’s because of this. Oh, and it works great as a base coat as well. As for the L’oreal Nail Polish in ‘Noble Mingle’ and the China Glaze Nail Polish in ‘Midnight Mission’, I’ve been abusing these shades a lot lately. Noble Mingle looks so simple from the bottle but looks so classy when applied.
So those are my favorite products for the past month. As much as I would love to say, I haven’t been using much makeup, that’s just not true. Makeup is a part of who I am and it’s something that I even use just cause I’m bored and I want some pick me up. So those are the products that I often play with.
September has been an okay month for me. Not as awesome as August was but definitely not bad either. Anyway, how about you? How was your previous month? What are your favorite makeup/skincare products? Let me know.
