June 2014 Faves

July 2014 Faves

Hi loves! How’s your weekend? Me? Oh well, still here… working. I’ve been planning to blog about my June Favorites but for some reason I end up falling asleep whenever I start either editing my photos or typing. Ugh. What’s wrong with me? Anyway, I’m going to stop now before I start typing something cliche like I always do whenever I do my monthly faves. Let’s just get started, shall we?

June 2014 Faves
Human ♥ Nature Nourishing Facial Wash & Face Toner

Back last month, I had this serious breakouts. Pimples just kept popping out from everywhere and none of my skincare products were able to get rid of them so I decided to take a chance and buy something from Human Heart Nature. I’ve been reading a lot of great things about this brand so I decided to take a risk. Besides, my skin’s been acting up so if it didn’t work then oh well. But alas! These products worked! My skin’s still not in the best shape, but at least I was able to get rid of those nasty bumps and redness.

June 2014 Faves
Myra VitaGlow BB Cream in ‘Ivory’; KATE TOKYO Quick Remake Liquid For Cover Makeup;
San San HD Concealer in ‘Natural’ & Gatsby Powdered Oil Clear Paper

Myra VitaGlow BB Cream in ‘Ivory’ – Even though it doesn’t give that much coverage, I like how it makes me look radiant and glowy. I often use it on the go especially underneath my Ellana Pressed Mineral Foundation. Together they’re a perfect match!

KATE TOKYO Quick Remake Liquid For Cover Makeup – I don’t know how much “gushing” do I have to do in order to express how I LOVE this product. This product is a savior when you need to do some retouching and powder is just not enough. When you want to look fresh and you want to look like you just applied your makeup all over again. Whoever made this product is a total genius.

San San HD Concealer in ‘Natural’ – At first I didn’t like this concealer. It was a bit thicker than my usual concealers and I think I broke out because of this (not sure so please don’t take my word for it). But I tried it again and I ended up liking it. It offered amazing coverage and even though it’s thicker, it didn’t emphasize my fine lines and my dry spots. I can totally see why this concealer is very much hyped.

Gatsby Powdered Oil Clear Paper – I’ve been experiencing a bit of oiliness in my T-Zone area. Not too much but it’s something that I’m not really used too. Like I said, my skin’s been acting weird recently and this is also one of those products that helped control the oiliness around that area.

Ellana Minerals Eyebrow/Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Beloved, Intense, Wish & Hush’
Etude House Drawing Show Brush Liner

Ellana Minerals Eyebrow/Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Beloved, Intense, Wish & Hush’ – I cannot believe I haven’t reviewed this yet! OMG. I am so sorry. That’s next on my todo list, I promise. Anyway, this has been been my go-to eyeshadow and eyebrow quad for past month. The shadows in this quad are just so richly pigmented and they stay on for a decent amount of time. If I want to spice up my eye look, I just use my Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Gel Shadows then I use this quad to contour my eyelid. I LOVE IT! Etude House Drawing Show Brush Liner I’ve been loving this eyeliner and it’s the one that I’ve been using whenever I run errands. It’s not as pricey as KPalette but it has the same tip/applicator. It transfers a bit in my lower lashline which is why I don’t use it in special occasions but for times when you just want to use a regular eyeliner, it’s definitely a great alternative.

June 2014 Faves
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in ‘Radiant Magenta’
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in ‘Radiant Magenta’ – I’ve already raved about this in my previous review, so I won’t blab much about it here. Point is, it’s been my favorite blush ever since I got it. It’s subtle yet it’s noticeable. It gives you that radiant glow but it’s on the pricey side.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette – I can’t explain why I love this. I’m going to do a review about this soon but even then I still don’t think I will be able to accurately describe why I love this product. Let’s just say that the hype is true. At least for me. I know that some people are totally head over heels about this product, and some aren’t really impressed. I am one of those who loved it. You’ll probably see why in my future review.

June 2014 Faves
Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in ‘Summer Crush’

Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in ‘Summer Crush’ – Aside from ‘The Morning After’ which was already my favorite since May, I’ve also been loving this one. It’s a bit of a muted hot pink if you ask me. It’s a lot more wearable and like I said in my review, it’s very moisturizing. No lip balm needed!

June 2014 Faves
Noconi Kabuki Brush & Queen B 99% Alcohol

Noconi Kabuki Brush – I don’t know if you noticed but I have this strange addiction to kabuki brushes. Landmark is actually heaven for me because they have tons of kabuki brushes there in different shapes and sizes. I got this there and it’s a square-shaped kabuki brush. It’s really dense and it packs a lot of product. I like using it for my Ellana Minerals Loose Powder Foundation.

Queen B 99% Alcohol – I got rid of a lot of my makeup and I gave it to my nieces and I also sanitized a whole lot of my makeup. This is such a miracle product. It evaporates quickly but you’re sure that your makeup is clean clean clean.

June 2014 Faves
Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in ‘Bare Bones’, Maybelline Colorshow Nail Polish in ‘Hooked-On-Pink’ and
Essence Nail Art Express Dry Drops

Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in ‘Bare Bones’, Maybelline Colorshow Nail Polish in ‘Hooked-On-Pink’ – I have been loving these shades lately. Both of them are really opaque (The Maybelline nail polish can in fact go on with a single layer) and they look beautiful on my nails. They’re the ones that I’ve been using a lot for the past month.

Essence Nail Art Express Dry Drops – I don’t know who introduced me to this product but I saw this from someone’s instagram/blog. This is only PhP149 but it speeds up the drying time of my nail polishes and I also believe that it extends their longevity. I for some reason think that this is a miracle worker, lol.

So those are my favorites for the month of June. Let me know through the comments what are your favorites, and also if you would like me to review anything in particular from this post that I haven’t reviewed yet. If you haven’t, check out my previous monthly faves. Let me know what you think.

See you on my next post! :*

  • Nice list! I also bought the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette from Primadonz, and loving it! It really makes my face glow but not like a disco ball! I am so glad that I got it only for 1,500! Hihi.

    • 1,500?!!!!!! 1,500?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Juvy. I love you so much. -_____-

  • I love this list! There’s so many interesting products and helpful tips. I’ve been having really bad breakouts lately and I think I should try that Human Nature products. Also, I’m interested in the Gatsby Oil Clear Paper, how good is it? Is it better than Clean&Clear’s?

    • You should try Human ♥ Nature Products. They have various skincare products for different skin types. I’m actually impressed.

I’m not sure about Clean & Clear since it’s been years since I used one. To be honest, the only reason why I chose Gatsby over C&C was because it’s a lot less expensive and it works for me at least. I’m almost out of it, actually. I might reconsider purchasing C&C and I’ll update you next time.

      • Really? That’s great! Oo nga, ang mahal kasi talaga ng C&C kaso I haven’t found the closest (yet cheaper) to it yet when it comes to performance. HN has a branch near me, I should check it soon, yay! Thanks!

  • Gem

Yette, I’m curious.. isn’t Dim Light a bit dark on you? Parang it’s appearing darker on my face as compared from its color on the palette

    • Dark nga ren sha sakin. I use it on top of my bronzer or blush then I use Radiant light as my overall powder.

      • Gem

How about the 3rd one? Pano mo ginagamit? I love it on my face pero i always get a comment na ang itim ng face ko still trying to figure out its perfect match!

        • I use Dim light for my contour or bronzer (minsan pamatong sa blush depende, lol). Then Incandescent for my highlighter then Radiant light for my overall powder

  • Nice choices, Yette! Some of your favorites are my favorites too! I don’t know why but tinatamad akong mag post ng monthly favorites ko.

  • Great find on the tools! I really like the square brush, 99% alcohol and Essence quick-dry oil. I’ll probably get the oil soon!

    • Go! Haha. You’re going to love the square brush and that Essence quick dry oil

  • Thanks for sharing!! Do you have review about the Etude house Drawing show brush Liner? How much do you bought it?

    • Nope. I don’t have a review about it. I believe I got it for PhP 400+ If I’m not mistaken.

  • Loooveee the products!! especially the Ellana minerals one!

  • Of all those beauty products, my fave is the natural ones. I also love Human Nature! Effective and affordable!

  • DearKaaat .

I use Human Nature’s tomato toner too! My 5th bottle of this is almost empty.

    • OMG! 5th! Wow. That really says something about the product

  • I’ll recommend the HN toner and facial wash to my sister since she’s prone to having pimples. Actually I also want to try HN’s facial wash because they’re made of natural ingredients and I think the tomato extract is good for the skin.

    • If she’s prone to having breakouts have her try the acne prone version. I think it’s an interesting line. Been meaning to try that one too since my skin was really acting weird that time. But it’s still your preference

  • Oh my gosh those Houglass! Always wanted to buy one because of the awesome reviews I’ve read about them kaso every time I’m planning na bumili my pagka kuripot attacks. LOL

    • Haha. I can’t resist!

  • Wow! That’s a LOOOT of products! And I see some of my personal faves here. Love it

  • Omg! Some of your favorite products are my fave too. Especially the Happy Skin Lippies, it’s the lipstick I ever have. I’m sticking to it na when I first tried it. Super worth it.

    • So true! Those lippies from Happy Skin are a godsend especially for those with chappy lips like me.

  • Fun-looking combination you have there. From Hourglass to Myra, I love it.

  • Fati Recede

Will try that Myra e BB cream. it seems that the ellana powder is soo good. Been reading several BB cream reviews and that powder is what they are usually pairing with their BB creams. I’ve been into touch ups lately you know, to look fresh so when I read that Kate Tokyo cover makeup thingy, I was like, Grabe gusto ko itry to!! Love all the products in this post!

    • You should try the Ellana. You’re going to love it

      • Fati Recede

        I will!!!!!

  • abegaill villacruz

I love all the products you’ve mentioned. I’m a fan of Human Nature products actually. Being an organic product is a plus. Also, I’m hoarding (haha) revlon color show nail polishes! I super love the colors. They’re so vibrant. I’m also trying other color show products

  • I always see Human Nature but I never considered using it since I have acne-prone oily skin and I am too afraid using different products aside from proactiv and reading this gave me the possibility of trying it because I am hopeless of my skin condition, I hope it will work for me. I also like that etude liner super favorite ko, super easy to apply kasi brush and fast dry

    • Try them! They have different variants for different skin types and I’m sure you’ll end up finding something you like

I myself suffered from acne just 3 years ago. I’m 28 years old and turning 29 next year, my pimples started when I was 26. It was the last quarter of 2012. At first I was able to combat those by just using 2 products, Pond’s Anti-bacterial scrub and Defensil Soap (from the makers of Kojie San). I was amazed but my pimples came back now at the side chin area, the part of the face where pimples and marks heals longer. Again, I was able to get rid of those by using different products. I cannot mention which one now because I’m on a trial and error process. To make the story short, I still suffer from minor acne.(on and off, whenever my period is about to come) The part that I hate the most is the blemish or marks it leaves. It takes approx.2 months or more to get rid of it. I was really frustrated from the fact that I had a blemish free and acne-free skin ever since. Now, I started taking Rosy Peel Capsule hoping it might help me.I don’t think topical treatments is working on me perfectly. Maybe I need something to take like this supplement for my skin. My dilemma only started after giving birth so I was thinking that it might have change something inside my body after that process including my skin’s immunity.
