Nails & All That Cuteness: Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge
Hey loves! Honestly, I don’t go to nail salons that often and I prefer to do my manicure at home. That’s because I have really tiny finger & toe nails and whenever I get my regular mani/pedi most of the nail technicians I’ve met often say ‘Ang liliit ng kuko mo ‘neng! Nakakatakot ka linisan baka masugatan ka kagad!’ (means they’re scared to clean my nails because they’re afraid they might nick it or something). Even my mom’s regular manicurist who visits us at home says the same thing. I’m good with doing my finger nails, honestly but my toe nails? OMG. Que horor! I would like to keep ’em covered as much as I can. I can clean them but shaping them is a different story. Anyway, Imma stop babbling now.
Last Friday, June 27, right after our Ellana Photoshoot, my co-blogger Gen-zel and I decided to continue our girl bonding at the Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge. Located at the the third floor of Hemady Square (Doña Hemady St. E.Rodriguez Q.C.), the salon was filled with girly and colorful vibe.
Like I said, the salon was very girly and colorful yet it was very cozy. The colors were very easy on the eyes and I must say that I love how they combined all those pastel colors with floral prints. Their wallpapers had that Cath Kidston vibe, yet their interiors has that Elle Woods/Cher Horowitz kind of vibe.
Dang! I forgot to ask the owner where she got that huge vanity mirror! -___-
Aside from nail services, they also offer hair and makeup services, waxing, threading & eyelash enhancements.
Before our mani-pedi sesh started, we were asked whether we liked coffee or iced tea. Gen and I both picked iced tea and both were served with these really cute hand-knit sleeves. Oh, and the biscuits were yummy too! Also, before we started, one of the attendants offered to give me a disposable shorts since I was wearing skinny jeans. That actually impressed me because not all nail spas/salons do that.
What I like about Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge is that their nail technicians are very attentive to all of their clients’ needs and they’re very light-handed yet they get to every corner of your nails. Also, even if you have two nail technicians who are working on you, they don’t talk to each other. They’re paying attention to your nails. Tell you the truth, if not for my iphone I would’ve fallen asleep.
We both availed of this basic spa package, and I really liked how the NT did my foot spa. She was really careful and it wasn’t painful at all. Though I’m a bit of a sadist when it comes to exfoliating and buffing out dead skin, she was very careful and she took her time buffing out all of my dead skin. The massage felt really great and I kept wishing for it to continue but oh well, I guess I just had to go back for more. She never said a word to me about my fat, stubby yet tiny toes. She got rid of my ingrown which I never noticed, actually. She was so patient. I really commend her for that.
For my fingernails, the NT was really careful in cleaning mine because she noticed that my nails were really soft and thin. That’s actually my problem ever since. I also have this sensitivity around my fingernails. They bleed quite easily but with her, I didn’t notice any blood at all. Also, because I was so busy taking pictures I accidentally nicked one of my nails so she had to patiently redo one of my fingers.
Because of the huge amount of sample swatches that they had at the salon, (click here for reference) picking the right color for my nails wasn’t easy. I went for Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in ‘Violet Voltage’ for my fingernails. The color reminded me of Lime Crime’s packaging, lol.
Then for my toes, I went for ORLY’s Purple Crush. It’s a beautiful neon magenta color. I actually failed to take a photo of my stubby feet but I guess that’s for the best since I don’t really want to drive you away. Ugh. Anyway, for both my fingers and toes, they first applied a base coat, then 2 coats of the nail polish I picked then the top coat. I am not familiar of the brands they used for the base and top coat.
For my fingers, the nail polish lasted on me for three days tops. It was already chipping by the third day and by day four I could already peel it off. Perhaps it was because I have an online work and all I do is type. Further, I had so much activities that day and the day after that. However, my for my feet, my nail polish is still there. Nothing chipped what so ever. It’s still shiny and I’m still loving the shade.
All in all, I really do like the salon and I love how professional all of the attendees are. The ambiance is just amazing, the music’s very calming as well. By the way they have flat screen TV too, if in case you would like to watch rather than listen. I love their service and it’s definitely a place where you can take your girl friends to for a girly spa day. The girly vibe definitely matches my taste and the welcoming staff really makes me feel at ease.
If you are looking for new places to hang out with your girl friends this weekend, I definitely encourage you to drop by at Make Me Blush Nail Spa & Beauty Lounge. The prizes are fairly reasonable and the service is just superb! I am telling you, you wont regret it!
