Myra VitaGlow BB Cream – Review, Photos & Swatches

Hi pretties! How are you doing? How’s your weekend? Me? I am so glad I finally got a weekend off. Takes my mind off things. I have a brand new review your you. Remember when I uploaded a photo of this pink, cute, personalized brush holder a couple of days ago? (click here for reference) Well it included two shades of the NEW Myra VitaGlow BB Cream.

Truth be told, this is my first time using a product from the brand, ‘Myra’. I’ve heard tons of positive reviews about their tinted moisturizer before, I just haven’t gotten around testing them. That’s why when Myra & Ms. Marcie sent me my very own Myra BB cream, I got very excited that I tried it the next day.

I personally love the packaging of this one. It’s pink, slim and very portable. You can easily squeeze it on your makeup kit without worrying that it will take up too much space or that it will get squished while it’s on your bag. I also like the fact that it has a tiny nozzle so you can control how much product you want. Honestly with regards to the packaging, I have no complaints. I think that the packaging is very practical, and really targeted for those Filipinas who are always on the go.

This BB Cream offers two shades. ‘Ivory’ & ‘Beige’. When swatched, they’re quite different from one another. Of course, ‘Beige’ is a bit darker than ‘Ivory’, and has pink undertones while ‘Ivory’ has yellow undertones. I am in the shade ‘Ivory’ but I realize that once blended they don’t have that much of a difference. I prefer to apply this using my fingers. It’s very creamy and super easy to blend. I tried applying this using my flat top kabuki brush & my RT Expert Face Brush but I didn’t like the effect. I just feel like I’m wasting too much product. This is one of the BB creams that I prefer applying using my fingers, and to think that I love using either a brush or a sponge when it comes to my face products, lol.

One of the things that I like about this BB cream is that it’s very lightweight yet it doesn’t feel tacky compared to most of the BB creams that I have encountered before. As mentioned, it’s really creamy and super easy to blend. Unfortunately it’s not buildable. I tried to apply two layers especially on my problem areas but I still see some of those imperfections that I am trying to hide. It can definitely even out my redness but apart from that, you will definitely need a concealer. It only provides sheer coverage that I’m afraid wont be enough for pinays out there. Finally, with regard to the finish, those ‘light-reflecting shimmers’ can be pretty visible. I have no problems with it because I have normal to dry skin, but for some people who have oily skin, this might be a problem.

Contrary to its claims, it doesn’t have full coverage and you will still need a concealer. However, what I do love about this product is that, It can definitely make my skin/face a lot more healthy due to the shimmers that are already included in the product. I love that it already acts as a moisturizer, yet it doesn’t feel tacky. I don’t even need to apply a setting powder anymore! (but if you know me, I’m a powder junkie so I HAD to set it with powder – In this photo, I applied a translucent powder so you will still see the coverage it provides.. though I applied a bit of concealer..) Oh, and another thing that I love about this is that it doesn’t give me that ghostly whitecast whenever I use this for flash photography. This BB cream lasted on me for more than four hours, which is already a good thing considering that I didn’t use a primer.

This BB cream has that faint lotion-y scent. I’m not really sure if that description makes sense, but you know those common moisturizing lotions out there? It kinda smells like that. It doesn’t smell bad, I like it actually. Oh well, I’m really bad at describing scents, so why ask me? Duh.

Despite the notable cons of this product, I still love it. It has been my go-to BB cream this past few days. Of course I still apply a concealer after using this but with the consistency of this one? I don’t even need a brush anymore, and the finish, you don’t even need a highlighter, and you can even skip a powder if you’re really in a hurry. It’s not overly dewy it gives me that radiant glow that I always want my face to have. I know that this is not the most popular BB cream out there, but I happen to like it.
If you have normal to dry skin like me, then I’m sure you’re going to love this. If you don’t end up liking it, use/mix it with your foundation to achieve that youthful glow. It’s still worth it either way. It’s only PhP 99, come on! Most products that I have encountered with shimmers are worth way way more than this.
I do not see why not considering that it’s only PhP 99 and it’s a really good product.

I have both as well but Ivory is the only one that suits my skin tone. Beige is much too dark for me. I find the application of this BB cream a little streaky, unfortunately. Whether I use a brush or my fingers, it’s still the same. Coverage is too sheer for my liking too! The most it can do is minimize my pores, but even then only slightly. Oh well. At least it’s only 99 pesos!

Will try this soon…atleast it’s affordable and me as a fresh graduate currently reviewing for my Board exam, I still can’t afford buying some expensive stuff.HEHE Thank You Miss Yette! God bless!

    • Yes, it’s only PhP99 so you can’t go wrong with it!

  • DearKaaat .

I’ve never purchased a product by Myra too thinking it’s “just another” drugstore product. I just saw this yesterday and yes, the tiny slim tube is super space-friendly. I’ve also been reading a lot of positive reviews about this and it’s making me want to at least try. It has a very attractive price-tag too!

  • Honestly, you had me at 99pesos! Haha. I take Myra-E daily and it does really make my skin glow. I’ve been seeing Myra’s beauty products but haven’t really tried any of them. But I’m really interested. I think I’ll give this one a try. Thanks for sharing your review, it helped me set my expectations appropriately! Hehehe

    • I haven’t tried Myra E yet, but I saw some of them here laying around the house, I don’t know who’s the owner, lol. You should give it a try. You can never go wrong with PhP 99.

Im also bad at describing scents. hahaha. anyway, are there any different shades for BB cream?

    • For this BB cream, it’s only available in two shades: Ivory & Beige.

  • Marseille Frances Bañas Talaca

I’ve tried their tinted moisturizer before and I liked it though I tend to be so oily when using it I just love how it gives me a glow effect because of the shimmers in it. I just think this BB cream will be way too light on me since they only have 2 shades. I might give it a try though since it’s only 99php :))

I’m using their Myra Moisturizer and I’m loving every it of it! Talagang nakaka-moisturize ng skin at di siya greasy. I ought to try this soon. Love your review Ms. Yette!

  • I think this is the same BB cream they had that came with a white packaging and they only re-introduced it with this new packaging. I’m not sure if this one has a new and improved formula. Nevertheless, it’s still worth a try because it’s inexpensive.

  • I received Myra BB Creams before and I was excited to try this out, but, when I found out that it contains some glitters or some kind of shimmery thing, I stopped using it but I still love that it’s lightweight and affordable
