Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection – Review, Photos & Swatches

Hey loves! So today I decided to review a new favorite of mine. I was actually not sure before whether I should get this one or not because even though I am a fan of chubby lipsticks, I thought to myself, I already have enough. But I’ve been hearing lots of raves, and even my cousin loves it, so I knew I had to give it a try.

Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

Product Claims/Description According to Happy Skin:

These lippies can be worn solo or layered on to create unique lippie looks!

PACKAGING

Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

Well, what else can I say about the packaging of these? Similar to those of the regular chubby lipsticks, they too have a twist-able end for ease of use. The cap fits securely, onto the body and the design, although I realize that it fades eventually (rather quickly if I may add) is really cute and very feminine.

SHADES

Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

These lippies are very opaque and true to their color. I CANNOT believe that something that comes in this form can be so opaque yet so moisturizing. I’ve hoarded so many chubby sticks and of all the chubby lippies I own, nothing beats the opacity and pigmentation of this one. And I am willing to bet that this applies to all of their shades, not only to these three.

FORMULATION/CONSISTENCY

Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

Even though these three are the most pigmented and opaque chubby sticks I own, it’s still very creamy and moisturizing. They have quite a glossy finish and even just a single layer is enough. It doesn’t dry out my lips through time, since I notice that some lippies do that. They’re moisturizing at first, but they tend to make your lips feel dry as time goes by or as they fade out through the day. This one doesn’t.

APPLICATION

Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

Sunset Kiss – Is a reddish coral lippie. It looks orange on the tube but once applied, it looks more red. It’s very wearable and it’s not that intimidating. It’s perfect for spring and summer but you can pull it off even during the day time. It’s very easy to apply as it glides on easily onto my lips.

Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

Summer Crush – Doesn’t appear as light or as ‘neon’ as it looks like in the packaging. It has berry undertones that makes it very wearable. Like ‘Sunset Kiss’ it doesn’t appear as intimidating. It’s more on the reddish side.

The Morning After – Is my current favorite among all three! I was only supposed to get this because among all three, this one was the most raved about shade. This is more on the neural side, with a bit of a mauvey undertone. I really love this shade. It’s lighter yet it’s very opaque and even just a single layer can cover my highly pigmented lips. I LAH-OVE THIS SHADE! ♥ All of these lippies are very easy to apply. I didn’t encounter any problems what so ever.

PERFORMANCE/LONGEVITY

Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

What’s amazing about all of these lip products is that ALL of them performed equally. Most of the chubby sticks I own outperforms the other, even though they’re from the same brand. They all have the same color intensity, opacity, pigmentation. They’re all very moisturizing and they’re all very long-wearing. Also, these don’t bleed nor do they cling on the dry parts of my lips. The price you pay for these lippies, are so worth it. Regardless of where it’s made.

PERFORMANCE/LONGEVITY

Happy Skin Turn Up The Heat LE Moisturizing Lippies Summer Collection - Review, Photos & Swatches

What’s curious about these lippies is that they don’t have a minty scent. Peppermint scents are very common when it comes to these forms of lip products and you don’t smell a hint of them in these lippies. However, I also do not feel weird applying them. I have one chubby stick (won’t mention the brand) that even though I really like it, I don’t use it that often because even if it doesn’t feel minty, it feels awkward because it kinda smelled waxy and just plain weird. I can’t put my finger on it. I am sorry. I wish I can describe it properly.

These lippies are loaded with Shea Butter and Collagen to keep our lips hydrated so wearing lip balms beforehand is no longer necessary.

I really would recommend it to everyone and if you’ve been thinking whether you should grab this collection or not, I am telling you… it’s worth it! PhP 1,249 for three lippies? It’s very different from all of the chubby sticks that I have encountered, in a really GOOD way.

  • i know happy skin’s shut up and kiss me balms are one of the most raved products from this brand, but somehow i don’t have one yet! The price is kinda steep.. but then i computed that getting the set of 3, it will just be 400+ each! anyway, i’m really drawn to the morning after shade! it looks great on you, too!

  • I am on my peak of my lipstick addiction but haven’t tried one chubby stick! I should now. Hahaha

aww na inlove ako sa The morning after, ang sad lang kasi kailangan bilhin mo ung isang box

    • No, sis! You can buy them individually. It’s a bit more pricier nga lang, but you can still buy it individually. Buy na! It’s limited edition pa naman

  • I love happy skin to bits. they have really quality products at reasonable prices. From the brand, I love their foundation.

    • Yes, I loved their foundation too

  • I love this set too!

    • Yep I know, i saw it in your Instagram!

  • WOW, this is so pretty! Ang ganda ng packaging and colors! I’ve been noticing the rave on this brand, good to know it’s actually good. Natuwa ako sa tawag mo sa kanila, chubby lipsticks, hehe, pero chubby nga! :)) Anyway, I’ve read din in other reviews na most of this kind op lipsticks have peppermint scent/taste, bakit kaya?

    • Haha. Perhaps because of their balmy/moisturizing texture? I don’t know. But like I said, this one does not have a minty scent

  • ScharliiScherbatsky

wish they’d sell it at a lower price, cause personally i’d rather get revlon colorburst balm cause i have a source where it’s lesser than the 549 price of one shut up and kiss me from happy skin…

    • Yeah, I agree with that. Specially that it’s a local product, they should know more that we Filipinos don’t spend that much money when it comes to makeup! Lol. Oh and yeah, US drugstore makeup is now a lot more accessible at a cheaper price due to internet resellers.

      • ScharliiScherbatsky

but then i guess their target market are the budding models and the yuppies.. they forgot to include the hot mommas who try to be pretty within a budget lol.. but ofc, before i buy anything online i do my research obsessively so i wont kill myself with regret later on.. p.s. this is how i actually discovered your blog

I love the shade The morning after, I think it’s the perfect nude mauvey shade that will compliment to morena’s like me. I would love to try this brand though it’s on the pricey side. Hands down with the packaging, so cute ad girly.

    • Yeah, it’s a bit pricey nga lang.

The Morning After clearly seems to be everyone’s favorite. Oh, and I saw these at a Plains and Prints store and had an internal battle whether to purchase or not. Lol. I’m definitely coming back to buy ’em next time. I’m interested in the red coral shade!

    • Haha. I don’t mean to be such an enabler, but this is only a limited edition shade and if you’re having doubts, I suggest you get it before it’s too late!

  • Was this a Filipino Brand? Do you like it more than Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balms?

    • Yes, it is a Filipino brand. It’s a lot more moisturizing than the Kissable Balm stains and a lot more pigmented. The lighter shade isn’t as streaky, so I think compared to Revlon and this one, I prefer this one.
