Product Description/Claims According to the Virginia Olsen Website
Virginia Olsen Pure Organics Lip Crème is formulated with all-natural ingredients which provide long lasting color and natural moisture that are safe to use even for those with delicate lips. It delivers natural pigments in a traditional lipstick shape, yet maintains its organic integrity.
VO lip cremes have a very unique, elegant and straightforward packaging. These lip cremes come in a sleek black tube with a matte finish. It has a subtle yet distinctive curve, which what makes them unique. The top of the cap also has a sticker that pretty much tells you the shade of the product. I guess the only thing that I’m not really loving about the packaging is that the tip of the lip creme doesn’t go all the way down to the tube. It doesn’t bother me that much though since it’s only showing a TINY, tiny tip/part of the lipstick.
These lip products are very opaque & ridiculously pigmented. They can cover your entire lips with just a single layer. It’s really creamy and it glides on perfectly.
• Crimson Geek – Is a cherry, pinkish-red lip color. Definitely perfect for the Holidays, and suitable for those who doesn’t want to wear an all-out red lipstick but still want to make a statement this Christmas.
• Sweet Seduction – Is a mauvey-nude lip creme. The color’s really subtle and very ideal for daily look.
My current favorite is ‘Sweet Seduction’. As you all know, I’m currently addicted to nude lippies this time of the season. Even though it’s a light color, it really does cover my entire lips with just a single layer. ‘Crimson Geek’, is my goto lip creme these days when I want my look to become a bit more festive. Especially during the Holidays, I just love wearing this lip creme. The cherry, pinkish-red shade gives me the freedom to wear it everywhere, while at the same time, it’s more forgiving since it’s not too red.
My original lip color does not affect the shade of these lip cremes, so therefore, what you see is what you get when you apply them.
Both of these lip cremes are very creamy, extremely pigmented, and highly opaque. As mentioned, it can cover your lips with just a single layer. But if you’re like me, then two layers of either will definitely do. Both of them are also very moisturizing even without the application of a lip balm beforehand. Further, it doesn’t dry out my lips since these babies are infused with Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, and Jojoba Oil.
Since these lip cremes are really creamy and highly pigmented, applying these lippies was a no brainer. Well, maybe except for the darker shades. Like I said, you no longer need a lip balm in order to prime your lips before applying this since it’s completely hydrating. I no longer require the use of a lip brush whenever I apply these lip cremes. Trust me, they glide on, like buttah!
Like I said, these lip cremes are so freakin’ pigmented (don’t know how much I said that, lol) so they can easily cover my lips. I love it really. Both shades go perfectly with my preferred looks. It doesn’t bleed, nor does it settle onto the fine lines of my lips. Of course, since it’s a lip creme, there will be some transferring issues. However, that can easily be resolved with blotting. Xsparkage did a tutorial on how to make your lipstick last longer, WITHOUT transferring, so you can check her tutorial here. However, sometimes, if I don’t feel like going through the entire routine of blotting, then setting, then blotting all over again, I just use them alone. Each of these lip cremes lasted on me for approximately three to four hours, with minimal fading. They also stained my lips and you really need a makeup remover in order to get rid of the stain (even the lighter shade!).
These lip cremes have a subtle scent that smells like your granny’s makeup. Not gonna lie. But it sure doesn’t bother me because it quickly fades the moment you put it on to your lips. These lip cremes are loaded with all natural ingredients, specialized to not only provide color for your lips but also to protect it against harmful UV rays. Further, these lip cremes are also safe for delicate lips, and they’re guaranteed not to discolor your lips since they are formulated with lemon peel extract (designed to improve hyper-pigmentation). It also has rosehip seed oil to help rejuvenate our lips’ delicate skin.

Overall, I’m completely in love with these lip cremes. I cannot speak highly enough of this lip cremes. You can see that despite the tiny cons I’ve listed, I still gave it a 5 because these CONS are just soo minor that can be easily ignored. I just listed them down so that I can be as thorough as possible. However, believe me when I tell you that once you try one of these lip cremes, none of those itsy bitsy cons will matter. You’re going to fall head over heels over these lip cremes! I’m tellin’ ya!
It’s definitely worth the money and I will definitely repurchase these shades if in case I ran out of them. I will also be getting more shades. I am loving the plummy ones so far.
