Monthly Faves: September 2013

Hi everyone! I was supposed to do this on YT but the video that I filmed last week was just horrible. I look horrible, the lighting’s horrible (than it usually is), the angle, it’s just UGH! Not good. Also, I can’t re-film since I really need to catch up in all of my entries since you guys are WAAY behind on what’s happening in my beauty blogging life. Anyway, I promise I’ll do the next faves via my YT channel, I know I haven’t uploaded in a while but you’ll see my Beauty Fair haul in my next upload. I promise.

Anyway, on to my faves :

Monthly Faves: September 2013 - Face, Hair, Skincare
Glory of New York Facial Cleansing, GNY Skin Enzyme, Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel, Nanny Rose Queen Bee Lemonest Lemons Lip Balm + Sunscreen & Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Moisture

I got my GNY products from their recently held product presentation (read more about it here and I know that I haven’t tested it out for a complete month to declare them as ‘Favorites’ but they are so good. The Facial Cleansing smells amazing and makes your skin feel softer after washing. It’s as if you no longer need a moisturizer after using it (but you still do, actually as a part of your routine. Just saying). The Skin Enzyme works like the famous Cure Natural Aqua gel but it always gets some thing.

The Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel is like my miracle HG hair and nail product. After finishing my Kerastase conditioner, I was really hesitant in buying a new bottle since it’s very pricey. I decided to buy this out of the recommendation of the SA. It made my hair so soft, manageable and less dry. I don’t experience a lot of breakage anymore. Same as with my nails, my nails don’t chip as much anymore (and my nails are actually really soft) and I can make them as long as I want to. I love it.

My Nanny Rose Queen Bee Lemonest Lemons Lip Balm + Sunscreen helped me fix my dry, chappy (& wounded) lips. My Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Moisture is my current favorite sun screen. Nothing much to say about it. It’s just something that I’ve been using a lot lately.

Monthly Faves: September 2013 - Face
MeMeMe Flawless Cream Foundation in ‘Porcelain’; Colour Collection BB Cream & Ben Nye Neutral Set

MeMeMe Flawless Cream Foundation in ‘Porcelain’ is more of like a rediscovered product. I actually forgot that I love this fondie. It lasts long with or without a primer, it blends flawlessly and it’s coverage is amazing! Then Colour Collection BB Cream is my current favorite BB cream because it’s yellow-based and it has an a decent amount of coverage. Ben Nye Neutral Set is not exactly my favorite but it’s something that I have been using a lot. You’ll see why in my upcoming review.

Monthly Faves: September 2013 - Blush
ELF HD Blush in ‘Headliner’ & ELF Studio Blush in ‘Tickled Pink’

This is my current fave blush combo. I use ELF HD Blush in ‘Headliner’ first, which is a subtle, yet really pigmented pink shade (click here for my review. Then I set it with ELF Studio Blush in ‘Tickled Pink’ which is a subtle pink (kinda like Headliner only in powder form) with tiny shimmers in it. It’s just beautiful.

Monthly Faves: September 2013 - Eyes
Wet N Wild Coloricon Palette in ‘Vanity’ & Maybelline The Rocket Volum’Express Mascara

I’ve recently introduced the Wet N Wild Coloricon Palette in ‘Vanity’ in a haul post (click here to read more about it) and I just love it. It’s much easier to use than my neutral palettes. It’s sorta like a ‘to-go’ version of the Naked palette, so it’s very well suited for beginners. The Maybelline The Rocket Volum’Express Mascara is something that I have been using a lot this month. It’s not waterproof though, so my lashes don’t stay curled as long as it should but it’s really volumizing though.

Monthly Faves: September 2013 - Lips
Etude House Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips Lipstick in ‘004’, LA Auto Lipliner in ‘Pinky’; Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in ‘Smitten’; Lime Crime Velvetines in ‘Red Velvet’; MAC lippies in ‘RiRi Woo’ and ‘Rebel’

Woo, that’s a lot. My go-to combo is actually the Etude House Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips Lipstick in ‘004’ and LA Auto Lipliner in ‘Pinky’ then the others are my fave bold red & plummy red lipsticks. I did a review about MAC Rebel way back, if you’re interested, then here. And I also did a review about Riri Woo here.

I actually forgot to include a lipstick in this picture and that’s the Iris lipstick in ‘709’. I included it in the video, but for some reason I failed to take a photo of it. So sorry.

Monthly Faves: September 2013 - Nails
Revlon Nail Enamel in ‘Mischievous’, BYS Chrome Nail Enamel in ‘Bling’, L’oreal Nail Polish in ‘Blue Reef’ and Forever 21 Love & Beauty Nail Polish (no shade name indicated)

My fave nail polishes for this month!

Monthly Faves: September 2013 - Not So Faves
The Face Shop Nail Polish in ‘GR001’; Enchanted Cosmetics Shimmer Eye Palette in ‘Pixie Dust’

I’m just not a fan of this nail polish. Don’t get me wrong. I love TFS Nail polishes. They’re opaque and they can go on in just a single layer but this one is streaky and has a weird formula. With regard to the Enchanted Cosmetics Shimmer Eye Palette in ‘Pixie Dust’, I don’t wanna talk about it any further. You can read about it in my review.

So those are my faves during the previous month. I know that this is a long entry, but I really wanted to explain why they made it in to my list. How about you guys? What are your favorite products last month? Let me know.

So glad I discovered your blog. I’m in love with fashion but sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed by the amount of products – especially beauty products – that are out there. It’s nice when I can get first hand accounts. I’m especially excited for the M.A.C lipstick.

great makeup brands you have but i love your maybelline rocket mascara, hoe you could do a review on it

    • I’ll do one. Thanks

  • This has got me thinking if I should have bought The Rocket Mascara instead of The Falsies. Oh well, I’ll look into it after 3 months.

    • I’m thinking about getting the mascara you got at the Beauty Fair too, but I wanted the Covergirl Clump crusher so bad so I got that instead.

  • Erika Rodriguez

  • candyzmakeuptreasures

There’s a lot of rave about the Ben Nye Powder by famous
beauty gurus on YouTube. That’s something I want to try for my face. I like
your lippies collection by the way. #giglove

  • Leilani Gamboa

  • itsmefati

Yey! Here it is! The monthly faves. haha!
I really love that Neutrogena Sun screen but since I’m on a budget, I use myra-e’s for now. It’s good.
    Love the lippies!

  • Great monthly faves! I’m getting all excited about the face make up! Makes me wanna get a dose of each! Sa blush naman I wanna try the HD Blush! I’m an elf fan though I have only like 5 items from elf. Haha! Wanna try na mascara too! I love love love mascara! I have naturally long and curled lashes so I love wearing mascara and I prefer it more than using falsies. I get to use falsies on events/parties lang. The palette? I have tons of palette with those shades. But I would still love to try something form Wet n Wild! I am a forever sucker when it comes to lippies and nail polishes! Yes! I dream of having a huge space in my “dream” walk-in closet just for nail polishes and lippies! Like a wall or so! Hahaha. Ambisyos ang peg! Seriously, it’s really my dream. But for now, I’ve got enough lippies to fill in a 9-slot organizer and nail polishes that fit in makeup kit bag. I love the nail polish on your not so faves, haha. It’s like Bobbie’s Grass Skirt. I love pairing it with Bobbie’s Pina Colada. I wouldn’t want to use them alone. I think it wouldn’t look good. So I pair it with a bolder and stronger color. A hot pink Pina Colada’s a really good match. For the skin care naman, could not relate. Ang alam ko lang facial wash. Lately na lang ang moisturizer, astringent, at sun screen. I know I have to take care of my skin while I’m still young. Pero ewan ko ba. Such a late bloomer when it comes to these things. I only use facial wash before kasi I had no skin problems before. Ngayon, nagbbreak out na ako and I’m having blemishes. @@ Sorry for the nobela comment! Haha I just write this long when I’m really interested. Obvious ba? haha

I’m also curious about the ben nye powder. I’ve always been on the hunt for a setting powder which won’t make your skin cakey. ‘yong iba kasi, ang pangit ng result when you top your foundation or bb cream with a powder. I also have revlon just bitten kissable balm stain. Some beauty gurus claim that it is a long lasting lip balm pero I don’t know, for me it fades so fast. It doesn’t completely fade naman pero kelangan iretouch talaga. By far, I only have one mac lipstick and I’m loving it.

  • belinda b. ibanez

    Love the REvlon lipstick!! ♥

  • meganlev_13

yung mascara of maybelline yung favorite ko ever since, tlgang solid sya kapag inapply and hindi nagsusmudge. and yung blush ng elf, pigmented tlga sya. btw, great faves,

  • I heard that the Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel has many usage and many are saying good things about it. Makes me want to purchase but my only concern is the packaging, it’s unhygienic.

    • Yes, it’s the most useful product that I’ve ever bought. It doesn’t matter what my shampoo is, it keeps my hair moisturized & healthy. My aren’t in the best shape but they’re not as brittle as they were before I got this. You can also use it as your moisturizer, I tried it but I didn’t like it. Mainly, I use it for my nails and my hair.

It is indeed the moist unhygenic packaging. What I do is I bought this tiny spatula from Landmark and I use that to get what I need. Oh and I also bought this mini container, those that you can use for traveling. I separate the ones that I use for my nails and what I use for my hair.
