Monthly Faves: August 2013

Hi everyone! Before I continue to review more products this month, I thought I’d share to you guys what I have been loving the past month. Take note that the items included in this post/video are the products that I have been using religiously. I also decided to include a few items that I’m not so fond with. I am not bashing here, I REALLY love these products, especially the first one that I mentioned (which I’ll get to later) but sadly, for some reason, it ain’t working out for me lately.

Anyway, without further babbling, here are my favorites for the past month, and my (not always) brief explanation as to why I have been loving them. Enjoy loves!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in ‘Nude’
Bench Paint Box Lip Glosses in ‘Hot Fuchsia’, ‘Peach Mod’ and ‘Pink Cocktail’

* Please be advised that this list (particularly) varies from time to time. I’ve been testing out products continuously and there’s no saying when I’m going to hate or love them or if I’m going to love or hate ’em indefinitely. It’s a process. I am not, however bashing on these products. I bought them with my own money, with the belief that it’s going to work, so no. I am not hating or bashing on them, I’m just stating an opinion that CURRENTLY, as of this moment, these products are not working out for me.

I hope I was able to make that clear. I know I might get some questions especially regarding the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I just wanna say that it is still my favorite foundation (I know, confusing, right?) but as of this moment, maybe it’s due to the weather or my current skin care routine, it’s just not working out for me as I expected. Still, I’ll continue to use it (on shorter trips) and will eventually find out if I get the same reaction. Perhaps by then, I’m finally decided.

Anyway, those are the products that I have been loving right now. How about you guys? What are your favorite items last month? Let me know through the comment section. Also, let me know if you want me to review anything from this list, I’d be happy to work on it.

See you on my next post, everyone!

  • I’m getting myself Avon Ideal Luminous Blush in Peach. Hope to include it in my favorites, too! not monthly though hehe
I’m loving this blog! Take care, Ms. Yette!

It’s great that the Clinique moisturizer worked for you! It really doesn’t suit my skin. Would love to try the 4u2 bb cream, such cute packaging! Have you heard of UK Derm Erase brand? Watson’s has those. That’s my best discovery and biggest love for the month of August. I’m amazed of how it lightened my pimple scars that I’ve been hopeless about for years! You should try it!

    • It did work on my skin type but I’m not sure if I’m going to repurchase it if in case I ran out since it’s too pricey and I’m still pretty in love with my Hayan moisturizer. I have a dry skin and so far Hayan does the job for me, and that only costs PhP 300+.

No I haven’t heard of that brand yet. I’ll check it out, thanks for letting me know!

      • Angel

You’re welcome! The Erase serum is also great for wrinkles, stretch marks, dark spots (elbows, knees), freckles and also helps to cool down swelling acne — Sorry, I’m quite passionate about the product at this point. Haha

I’m thinking nga of giving away my Clinique mositurizer. Sayang naman hindi ko din magagamit. Minsan lang ako nagkaka high end product, not suited pa for my skin type. Lol. Never tried anything from Hayan No access kasi here in my area…

        • Sige, I’ll check it out once I go to Watson’s.

  • The Avon Ideal Luminous Blush in Peach is such a sleeper hit for me! I did not expect such a pigmented application and the color itself is very versatile. I also love the slight shimmer.

    • True! I’ve been using it too non-stop ever since i got it

  • I love Avon products too since my mom was a seller before she left the country. I will try that primer definitely!

    • Go, sis!

      • Ang alam ko local yan. I think I’ve bought from their online store before when I was in college.

        • Talaga? I like their lip butters too

          • Yep, kabatch siya ng Ellana!

  • jonathan nava

nice products, i hope theirs a product for men also

    • Thanks, Jonathan. I’ll try to work on that.

  • rhania escueta

Hi yette! how are you? ive been busy these past few days pero im happy that kahit di ako masyado nakakapagblog at bloghop e updated pa rin ako via instagram heheh =)

    • Hi Rhania! Thanks for asking. I’m okay.

  • wow! great products here sis! I love them all!!!!

  • itsmefati

hi Ms. Yette Love these goodies how much is that paintbox lipgloss? how’s that? any cons? i wanna try that

    • Hi Fati! In my video I said that I didn’t like the lip glosses. I included them in my not-so faves list

  • phyaboo

Hi! Can you do a review on the face sheet masks? I’m really into facial skin care lately, so that would help.

    • Will try to work on that

  • this is the type of post na lagi kong hinihintay sa blog mo, hauls and unboxings. Haha! Those lip glosses and facial sheets looks bongga!

    • Aww, thanks Kenneth

  • Awesome hauls! I love it. I’m not fond using beauty products but just seeing beauty blogs like yours makes me wanna go get my ass off this chair and buy some.

    • Haha, thanks Char

  • KeiFio Fave Closet

I am not familiar with some of the products but I would like to try them. Great hauls!

    • Haha. That’s sweet, Thea and I missed you! Where have you been?!

  • You’re definitely a beauty junkie. August has been like crazy for me. I got all my wants but both need haha But you know getting what we like or wants feels good diba? Natuwa ako sa “products I love and I’m not fond” Haha sometimes we have to tell our readers the truth about certain products para they know about it.

    • Aww, my August has been like the complete opposite. I didn’t get to test much products. Well, I did purchase a lot, but I none of them made it into my ‘August favorites’ so far. Perhaps they’ll make it this month lol.

True, I just don’t want to lie to my readers. I love the items I’ve mentioned in my ‘not-so-faves’ list but they just disappointed me this month, but who knows, I might love them next month. Ganun naman talaga e. Binili mo e, edi gamitin mo. Lol.

  • Wow so many beauty stuff you got there. If I have those stuff all at the same time, I would not have the time to actually try them and choose what I like and dont. Nice write up!

  • I have been using Clinique’s Dramatically Different Gel for years. I loved it in its lotion form, but when they came out with the lightweight gel, I was totally hooked. This is a great haul! I’m glad you ended up with so many you liked and so few that you didn’t.

  • Lean Lacaba

if i had as much cool stuff as you do, it would be cool! i love the lip glosses

  • rhania escueta

dear have you already swatched paintbox glosses from bench? oh did i miss it?

  • Leilani Gamboa

I love wearing the paintbox in pink pearl, pero i am not sure bakit parang iba yata packaging ng nabili ko compared sa mga nakuha mo sis,. anyways, I will wait for your review sa paintbox sis.

  • Gina May J. Mungcal

Oh I love the free sample of Clinique moisturizer too! Not a fan of lip gloss though.

  • The quality of bench makeup are not that good, I’ve tried their powder and lipstick and urgh. wala lang.. though the packaging is really cute.. Me too the nearly naked doesn’t work for me kasi my skin condition has changed but Im keeping them, it will still be my favorite

    • Bench makeup has always been my fave when I was in college pero parang pumangit talaga ung quality. Really? Ikaw ren? Kala ko nagiisa lang ako sa Nearly Naked. Love ko pa naman un

  • This was my second time I watched you on YT. The first one was maybe 3 or 4 months ago na. (Talagang may remarks?) Well, ganun talaga coz this day is so memorable for me. Nag-improved ka na and not so shy na on vlogging as well as very natural ang dating mo. Ang cute lang!

I’m not really a buyer of lipstick from time to time. So still my favorite lipstick are Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick (Mauvey) and the Pink Caramel from CMX Cosmetics (take note tinignan ko pa talaga sa kikay kit ko kasi di ko tanda yung brand).

I will going to look your reviews about the products you’ve mentioned above. As of now I need to buy a moisturizer so I will look more about your thought on moisturizers that you used.

  • The reason why I basically avoid lip glosses is the sticky feel from most of them. But I am so glad to know that the Mememe Light Me Up lip glosses are not sticky! Oh yay! I really like Mememe lipsticks and I’ve been wanting to try their lip glosses too, so thanks for including it in your faves. Now I know! Anyway, I’m not a fan of the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation’s packaging (I always prefer pump dispensers), although I’ve heard good reviews on it — one that stood out was from Missglamorazzi. But then she lives in a colder country. So maybe it’s the climate here in our country that makes our skin sometimes react unfavorably to these raved-about foundations. Btw I think you can purchase the Bare Naturals primer here – http://mybarenaturals.com/home/primer.html I’ve tried their soaps before. They were good, really looked and felt all-natural. It’s just hard to get hold of because there’s no shop nearby and the products are a bit pricey for me.

    • meganlev_13

me too hindi ako masyadong mahilig sa lip gloss. feel ko kse ang oily ng lips ko ahahaha.

  • meganlev_13

im really a lipstick addict, i hope magreview ka ng mga all time favorite lipstick mo. PLEASE???

  • meganlev_13

Revlon Nearly Naked foundation is my favorite foundation. maganda kse coverage nya sa face/skin ko.
