Monthly Faves | June 2013

Hi everyone! Can you believe that it’s the half of the year already? I feel like I just took down my Christmas tree, and now we’re on our way back to that season again. Anyway, I have a couple of products right here (especially hair and skin products), I hope that you like ’em and I hope that I can somehow give justice to all of these amazing products in terms of describing them.

Let’s begin!

Kerastase Nutritive Shampoo & Conditioner
HAIR CARE | Kerastase Nutritive Bain Satin (Shampoo) & Lait Vital (Conditioner)

This were two of the products that I received from The Beauty Junkee’s anniversary giveaway (click here to see the unboxing/haul entry). But according to Ms. Martha, each of these bottles costs PhP 1,800 approximately.

I am so thankful that these items were a part of the loot bag that I received from that giveaway. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to try these amazing hair potions. You guys know that I have ‘close-to-severe’ hair fall problems and I’ve tried almost every commercial hair products that offer solutions to those kinds of problems. They were great but not as great as ‘Lauat’, but ‘Lauat’ makes my hair dry it sometimes makes my scalp itchy. These babies, however, ever since I started using them… I don’t have a lot of stray hairs in my hand whenever I shampoo/condition my hair, I don’t have a ton of stray hairs in my brush or in my floor for that matter. AND – my hair’s obviously healthier, smoother and shinier. I definitely get why a lot of people invest for this product. I will definitely repurchase this!

June Faves - Skincarer
SKINCARE | Bifesta Bright Up Cleansing Lotion (PhP 399); Hayan Korea Vitamin Intensive Cream Moisturizer; Hayan Korea Vitamin Intensive Serum & Hayan Korea Vitamin Intensive Eye Serum
Prizes are indicated with 30% off discount as their introductory price.
Price list/brochure is courtesy of Ms. Liz of
Project Vanity

Bifesta Bright Up Cleansing Lotion (PhP 399) – I think I like this more than ‘Moist’ which is the one that is formulated for those with dry skin (which is what I’m supposed to have). It removes makeup a lot better than that one (I think) without breaking me out and I believe that it has a better formula than ‘Moist’. This again, was one of the prizes that I’ve won from the TBJ anniversary giveaway.

Katy Perry Purr
Katy Perry Purr (Approximately PhP 2,000+)

I love this perfume. For me, it smells better than ‘Meow’ which is the latest from Katy Perry’s perfume line. However, I noticed that it’s not as long lasting as most of the perfumes that I own. I mean, I’m not a perfume collector, and I don’t own a dozen of perfumes but this one doesn’t last as long as I would’ve expected.

Hayan BB Cream
FACE | Hayan BB Cream

I’m so in love with this BB Cream. It has a dewy finish but not that overwhelming. You know me guys, I don’t really dig BB creams/foundations with really dewy finish but this one doesn’t have that. Also it’s suitable for those with dry skin like me. It doesn’t cling to the dry parts of my face and it has a buildable coverage. I’ll do a review on this soon

Look Beauty Brow Perfect
BROWS | Look Beauty Brow Perfect (PhP 900)

I love this product! It offers seven brown matte shades enabling you to get your perfect brow shade, and also four stencils should you need further assistance in filing in your brows. Also, you it comes with a mini tweezer and dual headed brush which performs just fine actually. It also comes with a fixing gel which I don’t use as often (because I prefer to use it for travelling only) but it’s good in holding all of your brows together. I LOVE IT! The name is pretty self-explanatory. It’s indeed the perfect product to fill in your brows!

Benefit Hoola & MeMeMe Beat The Blues in Oyster Gold
CHEEKS | Benefit ‘Hoola’ (PhP 1,500) & MeMeMe Beat The Blues in ‘Oyster Gold’ (PhP 380)

I love these two! I love my Benefit Hoola! It’s a great contouring product, even though it’s pricey (a good alternative will be the Sleek Contour Kit in medium) without making you look too muddy. The MeMeMe Highlighter in ‘Oyster Gold’ is such a great way to highlight all of your facial features without making it look too artificial. I LOVE IT!

Mac & MM Satin Lipstick in Love Goddess (PhP 1,100) & Look Beauty Pout Butter in Perfecting Peach (PhP 250)
LIPS | Mac & MM Satin Lipstick in ‘Love Goddess’ (PhP 1,100) & Look Beauty Pout Butter in ‘Perfecting Peach’ (PhP 250)

If you’ve been following me via instagram you’ll know that I’ve been abusing this red lippie, so there’s no surprise there. Then, ever since I got this pout butter, I’ve been abusing it as well. It’s very moisturizing and I love the flavor. It’s very nostalgic, lol.

Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in Passionate Pink & Essence Color & Go in The Boy Next Door
NAILS | Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in Passionate Pink (PhP 325) & Essence Color & Go in The Boy Next Door (PhP 99)

I don’t have a ton of nail polish faves seriously, but these two were just my fave this month. Or at least they made an impression on me.

Anyway, those are all of my favorite products the past month. Like I said, I hope that I was able to describe why I liked them or at least I made it clear somehow. Also, I hope that you like this post, if you have any questions/comments, let me know.

How about you guys? Do you have any favorite products this past month? Take Care y’all!

I was supposed to have this done via video (as mentioned in my previous video) but I was too lazy to even stand up in front of my cam & do it. I’ll do a different video instead
I’m thinking of including ‘Regrets’ or ‘Not-So-Favorites’. But I don’t want to bash on products and I don’t mean to bash on them, I just want to share my views on some products that I wish I didn’t buy. Did I make sense? lol. Do you think it’s doable? Anyway, let me know!

I have hair fall problem too wished I can buy the Kerastase nutritive though it’s kinda pricey. I tried Luat din sissy and you’re right nakaka dry sya ng hair kaya you need a conditioner after using the shampoo. What am trying right now is using ginger 30 mins before taking a bath some people say kase it will help to grow healthy hair and less hair fall daw. I want to try benefit hoola din, pwede ba lahat na lang ng haul mo hahaha

    • Haha, Thanks KeiFlo

  • rhain

sayang i dont have kerastase sa loot ko but im happy i got the pevonia =) im becoming addicted with it =)

    • Actually that’s one thing that I liked on your loot. But you can’t have it all, ika nga. I like Pevonia from all of the beauty boxes that I’ve gotten and they never disappointed me so far. Ok lang yan, maganda naman ang Pevonia e.

      • rhain

actually it was my second time to try pevonia the first one i got from Ms Rowena’s 4yr things fave giveaway at ang huge nung container sabi ko nga it would last me until december =) yung phytogel cleanser =) i tried the sample also from sample room (asprize also) then this time yung galing kay ms m =) actually for summer use sya =) though tagulan na still i find it useful dahil medyo weird ang panahon natin ngayon =)

        • Good for you! No wonder you’re getting addicted, lol

          • rhain

and you made me addicted to ESSENCE =) gonna post a look i did with the loot as prize from your monthly readers =)

          • Haha, can’t wait

          • rhain

ang hirap lang i-justify nung look kasi mobile phone lang gamit ko =(

  • Waaahh. I always love to try Kerastase but they are just too expensive for me. So lucky you won one! I so love your favorites! I’ve been meaning to try out hoola ever since. Great post!

    • Thanks, Gen! Kerastase is really good. Ms. M’s right once you try Kerastase you’ll never go back

  • Desire Loreto

Again, such a great post, Yette. I really love your haul posts coz it gives me the urge to buy one. HAHA so lucky of you to receive such huge prize from TBJ’s anniversary giveaway. I also need that Kerastase so bad coz I do suffer from hair loss too. Hoola is a great contouring product but if asked to choose between hoola and the balm bahama mama, i would rather go for the latter. Anyway, thanks for sharing, Yette! It feels good to visit again to your blog despite my hectic sked

    • I chose Hoola because Bahama Mama was often out of stock. Tapos biglang nagkaron. -__- (nice) But I’m pretty happy with it. Thanks Desire!

  • Ghen Consuegra

Thanks for sharing your June favorites!!! I really need to try Kerastase since I’m suffering from hair fall. I tried a lot of anti-hair fall shampoos and conditioners, walang effect sa akin. Although pricey nga lang Kerastase. I also wanna try the Bifesta Cleansing Lotion since I’m getting tired of my make-up remover na. We have the same perfume. I love the smell of Katy Perry “Purr” talaga!!! I even gave up na my other perfumes dahil ito lang talaga ang amoy na nagustuhan ko. Hehehe… And thanks for sharing your fave nail polish color of the month. I have been looking for that kind of pink (Revlon). Where did you get it? Thanks again for this great post!!! :))

    • I bought mine at SM San Lazaro. Thanks!

  • Nice haul!!! As always! I actually want to try Katy Perry Purr but thinking twice kasi gusto ko din yung kay Lady Gaga! Will wait tlga for the brow perfect and pout butter review!

    • Haven’t smelled Lady Gaga’s yet.
WIll try to do a review soon

  • First thing ang mahal ng shampoo haha nakakapulubi naman yan then please do a review sa Hayan products. I saw their stall sa sm san lazaro one time pero hindi ko pinansin iniisip ko that time mukang hindi maganda ung product pero now ang dami ko ng nakikitang bloggers na nagtry try nito. I see pictures on my news feed about it pero I haven’t read a review about it. hope you do one and i will definitely read it

    • True!

Thing is I’m not fond of doing reviews about skincare products kase tamad akong kumuha ng before & after pics & I can be too straight forward about it lol.

I love the katy perry purr… Nice packaging isn’t it? I love to get to know new brands of make up and beauty essentials from this post. Some of the items are just too pricey for me. Two thumbs up for your June favorites Yette

  • I would buy that Katy Perry perfume just for the bottle because I love cats, but I have over 20 perfumes to last me for a lifetime

    • Aww, that’s a huge collection Nicoleta

        You’re always welcome sweetie

  • ayzee casimiro

I love Kerastase products! They’re quite expensive BUT totally worth it. Tatagal pa siya since the bottle is big
