Monthly Faves: May 2013

Hi everyone! May has been an overwhelming month for me since I was able to try a ton of new products from skincare to makeup. That’s why try as I may, I really can’t narrow this ‘Faves’ post into at least five items (as much as I wanted to). I would be lying to myself and to you guys if I decided to exclude one or more items just because I wanted to keep it short and “direct”.

Before we continue, I just wanna tell you guys that the products that I will be showing you are the things that I have been using all throughout the month of May. You may be seeing some ‘repeat’ products and for that I’m sorry. I don’t want to be redundant, but I don’t want to be dishonest either. I hope you catch my drift.

Anyway, before I continue to babble, here’s my (first) favorites video:

Cure Natural Aqua Gel, Mir & Ryvi Banana Soap & Nivea Baby Smoothy Cream

Monthly Faves: May 2013 - Skin
PHOTO CREDITS: Cure Natural Aqua Gel; Myr & Rivi Banana Soap

Unfortunately, I only have sample sizes of the first two mentioned products. But they changed my life! Seriously! Cure was able to get rid of the areas where I have really dry/dead skin, and the Banana soap (which I got from my recent Glamourbox was able to eliminate most if not all of the red spots I got all over my face. These products are amazing. The Nivea Baby Smoothy Cream, however, is really great in terms of moisturizing. i use it to moisturize my hands, some parts of my body and sometimes my face (in fact, especially my face).

Tony Moly Luminous Goddess Aura Makeup Mist
& Jazzy Cream Foundation in ‘CF-04’

Monthly Faves: May 2013 - Face

I love this makeup mist. It makes my dry skin luminous and healthy. It doesn’t make it really dewy, because you guys all know that I am not really a fan of that look as well. I’m also loving my Jazzy Cream Foundation. I had this for months but for some reason I stopped using it. Then I saw it again and decided to start using it. I love it because its coverage is very buildable. I no longer need to use a concealer and it lasts all day. It doesn’t cling in my dry patches and I really like it. It doesn’t look cakey on me as well.

Etude House Drawing Eyebrow, Eye Of Horus Natural Smokey Eye Pencil & Maybelline The Hyper Curl Volum’Express Waterproof Mascara

Monthly Faves: May 2013 - Eyes

I’m not really an eyebrow pencil kind of girl. I prefer eyebrow powders. But this one made the transition easier for me. Now with regard to the Eye of Horus eyeliner, I wasn’t really fan of this eyeliner until recently. When I decided to use it again. I was a fan of my UD Zero eyeliner (the one that came with my Theodora palette. Then I decided to try this one and I loved it.

BDJ included the ‘Hyper Curl’ mascara but before that I wasn’t really paying attention to it. I never thought that it could really hold my curls. Damn!

  Urban Decay Naked Basics Palettea

Monthly Faves: May 2013 - Eyes

Obviously, what do you guys expect? This was like my go to eyeshadow palette all throughout the entire month of May. For swatches/details regarding this palette, click here.

ELF Baked Blush in ‘Passion Pink’

Monthly Faves: May 2013 - Blush

I love this blush! Sadly something happened to it. You need to watch the video to find out. But I love it.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Antwerp’, MAC Matte Lipstick in ‘Candy Yum Yum’ & MAC Lipstick in ‘Chatterbox’

Monthly Faves: May 2013 - Lips

I am in love with these three lippies. I can’t stop using CYY, then before I had Chatterbox, I use NYX Antwerp as a more subtle lip color. Then I decide to give in and buy Chatterbox. I LOVE LIPSTICKS! Seriously!

ELF Kabuki Face Brush, VO Short Eyeshadow Brush & BC Blending Brush

Monthly Faves: May 2013 - Brushes

I love that kabuki brush! Seriously, it’s so soft, it’s so dense and it doesn’t shed. Enough said. That VO short shader/eyeshadow brush is just what I needed. I’ll definitely buy a backup. And that Beauty Cosmetics blending brush is very similar to MAC’s 217. Just what I needed as a backup.

Kleancolor Nail Polish in ‘Neon Pink’, WNW Salon Nail Polish in ‘On A Trip’ & Girl Stuff Nail Polish in ‘Dare’

Monthly Faves: May 2013 - Nails

I love these three nail colors. They’re vibrant and they’re very ‘summer-y’.

So those are the items that I have been using/loving all through out the previous month. I hope you liked and enjoyed this post and if you’ve been using anything similar to the items that I’ve enumerated above, then let me know! Also, let me know what you’ve been loving this past month. What skin/makeup products have you been using? I would love to discover something new….

Take care y’all! New lipstick review coming right up!

  • Erika Marie Cruz Bandong

I am very intrigued with that nivea baby smoothy cream!! Liz of project vanity also blogged about it and she said that it can be a dupe for a high end moisturizer.. I’m not fond of putting moisturizers in my face but I’ve learned that I still need to moisturize despite of my oiliness..

  • erika

I also use Etude House’s Drawing Eyebrow, and like you, I don’t use an eyebrow pencil because I’m heavy handed and I don’t want to look like Betty La Fea! LOL But, this product, I swear by, haven’t gone back to using eyebrow powder. I wouldn’t go out without this on.

  • Jo-an Victorio

that kabuki brush was sooooo Cute! Can you share how you use the kabuki brush?
I agree that Etude House Drawing Eyebrow should be in a favorite list. I love how it gives that natural look in my eyebrows

  • Lean Diwa Buscaino

I like the pink nail polish you have I also have the same shade but diff.brand. Do you have a review on your jazzy cooper foundation? I’m planning to buy it but I’m not sure about cream foundation cause whenever I wear concealer I get itchy. and since it has a creamy texture maybe it will turn out the same to me.

  • Leilani Gamboa

a Naked palette is my dream! It’s not like I need some more neutral palettes, but I just wanna know how it ACTUALLY feels like to have one :)) Naked Basics, 1 or 2 would do me fine! I’m now checking the Bon Marche page for prices, thanks to you!

I have the exact same Elf Studio blush and I love it too! Napaka high-def, pero ok din if you’re going for a natural look! What happened to it? Sorry I can’t watch Youtube videos kasi here in the office. LOL. Did the lid snap off too? That’s what happened to mine I used to bring it in my kikay kit everyday, but now I have to leave it at home because it messes up my kit without the cover on

  • i took advantage of the nivea sale today and bought 2 tubs of the baby smoothy cream… hope this would work well for me!
