Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Peachy Scene – Review, Photos & Swatches
Product Claims/Descriptions according to the Maybelline Website:
CRISPER COLOR from pure pigments
CREAMIER FEEL from nourishing honey nectar
PACKAGING – The packaging of this one is similar to all the other Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks. It is contained in a silver tube with a red, transparent plastic cap. it’s sturdy enough, and the cap fits securely on to the tube. Packaging-wise, I have no complaints. It’s not like it’s my first time to encounter a Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick. Lol.
SHADE – True to its name, this lipstick’s color has a touch of peach into it. Although I must say that it leans more to the pinky side of peach. Did I make sense? I hope so. Moreover, what you see from the tube is actually what you get when swatched and/or worn. I can see this totally being my go-to lip color whenever I want to wear a simple, neutral look or something that I can wear whenever I want to tone-down a really dramatic smokey eye look.
FORMULATION/CONSISTENCY – This lip color is really creamy and has more of a frosty pink finish, which I must admit is something that I don’t usually like. However, in this case, the frosty finish is not really that overpowering, and it doesn’t really bother me that much. I actually liked it. Although, to some people whose lips may be dry and/or have really fine lines (like mine), this lipstick may not be that ideal. However, you can always use a lip balm to prime your lips before applying, so I guess we can always find a solution to these things, right?
APPLICATION – I had no problems applying this lip color. This one went on smoothly, although as I’ve previously mentioned it did emphasize the fine lines of my lips. I did apply a lip balm prior to applying this one but I’m afraid that it wasn’t as helpful as I thought. However, compared to other creamy lip products, this one isn’t really the worst. Yes, it did emphasize all of the fine lines of my lips but for some reason it didn’t look terrible as I imagined. My lips looked decent on photos (except on close up like the photo above), and with a little exfoliating (unfortunately I forgot to exfoliate mine, lol) this would be a really good lippie.
PERFORMANCE/LONGEVITY – I had no major problems with this one. It did transfer but it wasn’t a big deal because after a few minutes, it no longer did. I did not experience any bleeding or feathering. It was quite moisturizing as well. With regards to the longevity, I’m afraid that this one only lasted on me, for approximately three(3) hours (without eating or drinking) without retouching. It did not stain my lips and it faded gracefully. I felt a sudden dryness when it faded, but I’m not exactly sure if that was because my lips were really dry or if that was because of the lip color itself.

SCENT – With regards to the smell/scent, it has a really sweet (candy/cake) scent which is pretty common to most Maybelline Color Sensational lip colors. Personally, I don’t mind it really, but I must say that for some reason this one had a stronger scent than the Vivids that I own. The scent, however fades quickly once applied onto your lips, so it doesn’t really bother me, like I said, and it’s not really overpowering.

Because of it’s creamy formula, it can settle and emphasize all the fine lines of your lips.
It can only last for up to three hours.
Has a pretty noticeable scent so if you’re not into scented makeups then this is not for you.
Overall, I have nothing to say about this lip color. Like I said, I like it. I think that the lip color is very appropriate considering that the school year’s about to start. I think that this will be a perfect transition lip color for those girls who got used to wearing really fun, and vibrant lip colors last summer. Since this is more of a peachy, pink shade with a hint of shine but like I said, it’s not overpowering. All you need is just to exfoliate and prime your lips with a lip balm and you’re good to go.
I consider this worth the money because it’s a lip color that is very versatile. You can match it with any makeup look you choose to create. It’s a neutral but it’s not so toned down it still gives you a hint of ‘fun’.
So those are my thoughts regarding this lip color. How about you? Are you in to these kinds of lip products? Are you fond of frosty, creamy lip colors? Do let me know through the comments below.
