Monthly Faves: April 2013
Botanical Choice Ultra Hydrating Shea Butter Mask “Olive Oil” – Honestly, I’m not the type of person who wears masks on a weekly/regular basis, however, when I saw this at Watson’s I was intrigued. As some of you may already know, I do have a dry skin and since it’s summer it became a little worse especially near my nose and my under eye area. After using this, my skin became smoother and softer to the touch, even the dry patches around my nose disappeared.
Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in ‘Natural Beige’ and FairyDrops BB Cream in ‘Light Ochre’ – These two products are my go to face makeup this month. They’re both light and long lasting. They can give me a flawless finish minus the cakey-ness. I love these products to bits and I’ll be using them the entire summer.
Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser & Krave Mist Spritz Makeup Setting Face Mist – These babies keeps my makeup in tact longer, day and night if necessary. Maybelline works just like The Porefessional, and it is indeed a more affordable version of Benefit’s. I also love the fact that I can use Krave’s Mist Spritz as a solution for my VO eyeshadows when I use them as an eyeliner. It keeps them intact all day long. As well as my makeup of course.
L.A. Passion Mineral Eyeshadow in ‘Taupe’ – I once heard from Michelle Phan that ‘taupe’ is a good contouring powder for your nose, so I started the usig the shade ‘Tease’ from my Naked 2 palette just to contour my nose. Then Say mentioned in one of her vlogs that she’s bought a taupe single eyeshadow from Beauty Minerals. Luckily, I found one as well. This became my go to contouring powder for my nose. It was until lately when Pixiwoo mentioned that if possible, when contouring, choose the color ‘Taupe’ since it looks more natural. Tried it and it did. I liked how it looked like, it looked so natural. It may not be as noticeable in photos, but it’s not as orange when you look at it in real life.
Pinkies Collections Eyeshadow in Skin Tone – This is pretty similar to the eyeshadow ‘Naked’, from the original UD Naked palette, only lighter. For me, it’s a perfect transition color if you’re creating a smokey eye or if you’re blending a lot of colors. It doesn’t really do well on it’s own since you can barely see it. But if blended with others, it works really great.
Virginia Olsen Minerals Eyeshadow in ‘Festival’ – I am loving this shade to bits. This is my go to eyeliner for weeks. I know that it’s not an eyeliner but since it’s summer it’s something that I have been using to brighten up my look. I use my Krave Mist Spritz as my mixing solution to set it either under my eyes or to create a winged look, and voila!
Ever Bilena Kleopatra Eye Pencil & Mememe Arch Angel – I’ve been experimenting with my brows lately, that’s why I’ve been using eyebrow pencils instead of eyebrow cakes/kits. Lately, I’ve been loving these two products for my brows. They’re the perfect match.
Clio Professional Waterproof Brush Liner Kill Black – This has been my go to eyeliner whenever I just had to run an errand. For some trips where I don’t have to worry about my eyeliner’s longevity, this is it. Don’t get me wrong, this is an excellent eyeliner but compared to KPalette, after three to five hours, it smudges, so for day to day errands, this will do.
L’oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Waterproof Mascara in Black – I still have a number of mascaras lined up to review for you guys but at the moment, this is what I’m loving. This keeps my lashes curled all day, it makes it super long, without flaking. Of course you will encounter some clumping after the third layer, but it’s not noticeably bad. Therefore, unless you want to have a clump-free and really long lashes using this mascara, then two layers will definitely do the trick.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pink Pop – I know that Summer is not the time to wear lip gloss but this is just so pretty. It’s the one that I wore on my latest Spring Makeup Ideas Collab with a few of my other co-beauty bloggers. It’s opaque enough to be worn on it’s own or you can wear it with other pink lippies. It goes so well with Milani’s Rose Hip (review to follow soon! Promise!). I’m definitely in love with this product. (I’ve read somewhere that this was a part of Leighton Meester/Blaire Waldorf’s makeup during her royal wedding)
Bobbie Stick On Nail Polishes in Fierce & Heart To Heart, Chic Nail Polishes in Raspberry Pink & Noni Green, Essence Colour & Go in Ultimate Pink – Honestly, I am the type of person who doesn’t repeat my nail colors in one month. But these nail colors are just remarkable. I love these nail products and I have been using them pretty often. Oooh and I love Essence! I feel like collecting every color!
So, those are all of my favorites for the month of April. I know it seemed a lot but trust me, if you’ve seen my previous favorites, this is not the worst. Anyway, how about you guys? What are the products that you’ve been loving for the past month? I’d love to know them so I can try more things. See you soon!
