March 2013 | Glamourbox Unboxing & First Impressions
Anyway, sorry for the long intro. On to the unboxing…
Eye Of Horus Natural Smokey Eye Pencil | Full Size
Full Size 1.2 g (PhP 960)
Upon openng the box, despite all of the overflowing sachets, this was the very first thing I picked up. This was the only full-sized item that came with the box. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking forward to 2103912038 full-sized products, however, being that it’s from Glamourbox you get to expect something. With regard to the eyeliner, however, I haven’t tested the product’s longevity yet, but I love its texture, and it glides on smoothly. I’ll do about this product review soon.
Pevonia Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser | Sample Size
Full Size 150ml (PhP 2,950)
I already have a facial wash from Pevonia, which I got in one of my BDJ boxes, but it’s a different type and I’m about to empty that. Apart from the eyeliner, this is the only item that I liked in the entire box.
Avon Skin So Soft Glutathione Whitening Renewal Hand & Body Lotion | Sample Size
Full Size 250 ml (PhP 350)
It’s not that I don’t like the lotion, don’t get me wrong, I just don’t get it. Why give two mini sample sizes, when you can give a full size product? Or at least instead of making it two mini samples make the other one a different product instead. It’s just like the one that I got from my first Saladbox box. Like I said, I just don’t get it.
Heynature BB Creams | 4 pcs Sachet
Full Size 40g (PhP 1,300)
And here comes the foil packets. These sachets were the very first thing I saw in my GlamourBox. It was in the very middle of the box, hence it can’t be too hard to miss. Honestly, I really don’t like trying out makeup from foil packets. I feel like I don’t have the time I need to try its effects – the pros & cons, whether I’ll love it, etc. It deprives me from further examining as well as enjoying the product.
Heynature Aqua Brightening Gel | 1 pc Sachet ; Full Size 80g (PhP 1,750)
Same feelings I have towards the four sachets that I got. Only this time, I’m not talking about makeup. I’m talking about skincare products.
Yves SaintLaurent Saharienne & Ralph Lauren Big Pony 1 | Samples
YSL – Full Size: 75ml (PhP 4,300)
RL – Full Size: 75ml (PhP 4,300)
If you’ve been reading my unboxing posts, you probably know by now that I’m not really into perfume samples. Therefore, I’m still figuring out what to do with these two.
Overall, I think I’m just a bit disappointed with this month’s Glamourbox. I just did not expect all of these items to be in a Glamourbox box, if you know what I mean. I have been a monthly subscriber ever since they started, and they came out with a bang (click here to check out my November Glamourbox), followed by a really good December box, and so on. I guess because it’s from Glamourbox, you get to expect something better, something out of the ordinary… something not like this. Anyway, I apologize for the rant, I wasn’t supposed to do that, and that’s precisely the reason why I decided not to blog about this yesterday, but I guess it can’t be helped.
Now if you ask me if it’s still worth it, my answer is still yes. The eyeliner itself costs more than what you pay for, and it’s of good quality. It’s just the other products, and the composition of the entire box that I didn’t really like. Glamourbox is still a really good monthly subscription service, and I will definitely continue my subscription to their website. They have more ‘ups’ than ‘downs’ and I never really had a problem with any of their boxes until now. Although, just a side note, I think they really have to ‘amp up’ their game because BDJ’s monthly boxes are getting better and better each month, and just recently, all of their April boxes are already sold out.
How about you guys? Are you subscribed in any of the monthly beauty boxes that we have here in the Philippines? Do you like it so far? Are you subscribed to Glamourbox? Did you like it so far? Comment and let me know! Would love to hear your thoughts
