Monthly Faves: October 2012

Sorry for not being able to update guys. Been busy with All Saints, and work and all. But I promise that I’ll be updating a lot this week. Anyway, I know that this post is WAAAY late. Anyway, I’ve been experimenting with a lot of products this month and I must say that some of them I loved, and some of them I didn’t. Also, most of the items that you’ll get to see here in this post are probably just stashed up in my makeup storage, and it’s only now that I’m using it. You’ll also see here some products that I’ve already listed before in my September Faves. I decided to still place ’em here because they are already a staple in my makeup/beauty routine.

Anyway, here are my faves for the month of October, oh and be warned, this will be a long post…

October Faves

Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Medium Beige
Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush
Maybelline Angel Fit Perfect Concealer in Light Beige
4U2 DreamGirl Lovelight BB Powder with SPF15 in No. 2
My Five Goto Blushes
Marionnaud Blush Brushes No. 3 & No. 32
IN2IT Waterproof Eyebrow Colour
Marionnaud Eye Brush No. 38
My Four Goto Eyeshadows
Ecotools Eyeshadow Brushes: Highlight & Crease
ELF Eyelid Primer
Eyeliners: Fanny Serrano Gel Eyeliner, KPalette Real Lasting Eyeliner, L’oreal Super Liner
ELF Small Angled Brush
My Fave Mascaras: Benefit They’re Real & L’oreal Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black
My Six Goto Lip colors
My Seven Fave Nail Lacquers
Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer
Etude Wonder Pore Freshener
Garnier PureActive Anti Imperfections Roll-On
My 2 Fave Scents

So overall those are (more than) 21 products, but as you can see at the photo I’ve only numbered them at up to 15. You’ll see why later. Anyway, as I’ve mentioned this will be a long list/rundown of products. Hope that’s ok

I. Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer, Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Medium Beige & Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush

I still love my MeMeMe Flawless Cream Foundation, however, this past few weeks, I find myself grabbing my Revlon Colorstay Foundation a lot lately. Although it’s a bit more ‘liquidy’ than my MeMeMe, I still love this because it matches my skin tone and it gives me great coverage without the breakouts.

With this foundation, I use my ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer. This is a cheaper alternative to my MeMeMe 7th Heaven Facebase and is good for making my foundation last at least for an entire day. I’m not saing that it is “as good”, but I’m saying that it works. It is a good barrier between my moisturizer and my foundation. I love the fact that it’s affordable yet it works wonders in my makeup.

I bought my Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush last September 1 at the Phil-Cosmetics Expo, and ever since then, this has been my holy grail brush. I’ve been used to applying my BB Creams/foundations with my ELF stippling brush and/or foundation brush, but ever since I got this brush, I seriously can’t get enough of it. I honestly don’t know how my makeup/foundation routine will be like if I ever lose this brush. Lol

II. Maybelline Angel Fit Perfect Concealer in Light Beige

I don’t know why I didn’t include this in my September Faves. Lol. But this product, Maybelline Angel Fit Perfect Concealer in Light Beige, has been in my makeup routine since the beginning. I love this because this is the perfect concealer for me to cover the dark spots under my eyes. I’m not really the one to ask for under-eye imperfections, since I don’t get that often, but when I do, it’s really dark. I’ve tried other concealers, but I keep coming back to this one. However, this may not be the ideal concealer for covering other imperfections such as blemishes, etc. But, overall, I still prefer this one over all of the other concealers that I own.

III. 4U2 DreamGirl Lovelight BB Powder with SPF15 in No. 2

4U2 DreamGirl Lovelight BB Powder with SPF15 in No. 2 – This product has been out of stock for such a long time, and I’ve been wanting to try it ever since I’ve heard not only Say but also a lot of people raving about how great this product is. This became on stock early last month and as soon as I saw it, I grabbed myself a piece and decided to try one. I loved how it looked like on my face. It provides a great matte finish and also gives a medium to full coverage, depending on how you apply it. Personally, I use either the sponge or my Elf Powder Brush. The only thing with this product is that since it is only a ‘powder’ you’ll need to reapply it after a couple of hours. Aside from that, you’re good.

IV. My Five Goto Blushes & Marionnaud Blush Brushes

Okay, so I know that this is a load of products compared to my blush favorites last month. So, without further babbling, here are my fave blushes:
Jazzy Collections Blusher in BF-01
Maybelline Blush in Creamy Cinnamon
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed
NYX Blush in Peach
Wet N Wild Coloricon Bronzer Goddess

And my fave blush brushes are:
Marionnaud Blush Brush in No. 3 (Black ferrule)
Marionnaud Blush Brush in No. 32 (Silver Ferrule)

Told ya I’ve been experimenting this month. These are the blushes that I’ve been using on and off this month. I love all of ’em. Especially my Tarte Exposed. I’ve been using it nonstop, it is such a versatile shade, and I can match it pretty much every eye makeup I decide to come up with. With my bronzer, I have been using my WNW Goddess bronzer because it’s so pigmented, however, I’m still in the search for a really good contouring/bronzing powder. I also love my NYX Peach blush, it gives me such a mild radiant glow, without the shimmer. Maybelline’s Creamy Cinnamon, is more of an ordinary/common shade which makes it versatile as well. And believe it or not, I actually don’t have those shades, I mostly have pinks and peaches, I don’t have the “natural” ones. My Jazzy BF-01 Highlighter blush is my goto blush when it comes to highlighting some parts of my face in order to achieve that mild, dewy finish. I love this blush, it’s not that yellow, yet it’s very pigmented.

As for the brushes, I love my Marionnaud blush brushes. I don’t buy brush sets, I buy them individually. I love these two because no. 32 is perfect for countouring/bronzing while no.3 is perfect for applying blush on my apples. I love the fact that they’re dense, yet they’re quite affordable.

V. IN2IT Waterproof Eyebrow Colour & Marionnaud Eye Brush No. 38

You may have seen these two already in my two previous lists, first one in my September Favorites and second in my What’s In My Kikay Kit post. So it’s pretty obvious already how much I lah-OVE this product. Enough said.

Yeah, again, compared to my last month’s faves, I have more than two eyeshadow palettes to shade with you guys. Here they are:
Urban Decay Naked Palette (Original/First)
Wet N Wild Coloricon Palette (Walking On Eggshells)
Ever Bilena Eyeshadow Mousse (Rose Quartz)
Nichido Stardust Eyeshadow Trio (Kiss Of Pink)

And my fave brushes are:
Ecotools Eyeshadow “Highlight” Brush
Ecotools Eyeshadow “Crease” Brush

I don’t have new palettes lately, so what you’re seeing right there are my old eyeshadow palettes/trios. My WNW Walking On Eggshells palette is my goto palette when I’m in a hurry because I just apply those shades according to their label. I use my Naked palette during special occasions or when I’m going with my family/friends, as for the other two (Ever Bilena Eyeshadow Mousse in Rose Quartz & Nichido Stardust Eyeshadow in Kiss Of Pink), I love using these two when I wear an all-over pink makeup. I use the mousse as my base and I just use the trio to create either a smokey eye or just a usual day look. I might post an FOTD soon about this palette.

As for the brushes, I love my Ecotools Eyeshadow “Highlight” Brush, but I don’t use it as a ‘highlight’ brush. I use it mainly for blending. I love the size of the brush. It’s perfect for achieving a really good smoky eye look in my case. I also love the Ecotools Eyeshadow “Crease” Brush. I sometimes use it for my crease but I often use it to contour my nose.

VII. ELF Eyelid Primer

I know that not everyone likes/loves this eyeshadow primer but I love this. I actually like this better than the other one (ELF Studio Eye Primer & Liner Sealer). Second to my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, this one makes my eye makeup last longer, vibrant and crease-free. I love the fact that it is only PhP 129.00 but it works much better than the PhP 249.00 studio line.

VIII. Eyeliners: Fanny Serrano Gel Eyeliner, KPalette Real Lasting Eyeliner, L’oreal Super Liner & ELF Small Angled Brush

You guys might already been familiar of my KPalette Real Lasting Eyeliner. I think I’ve already raved about this product for such a long time. As for the L’oreal Super Liner, I am so impressed with this eyeliner. It’s really smudge-proof and water-resistant. I’m speechless. As for the Fanny Serrano Gel Eyeliner, it was my niece Ella who recommended to me this product. I actually stopped using gel liners because they just dry too fast and I hate it when my gel liners do that. I feel like I’m wasting money that’s why I decided to try liquid liners. But Ella told me that the Fanny Serrano gel liners aren’t like that, and she’s right.

I’ve been using angled eyeshadow brushes to apply my gel liners to achieve a straight winged/cat-eye look, and this particular brush (Elf Small Angled Brush) does the job for me so far.

IX. My Fave Mascaras: Benefit They’re Real & L’oreal Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black

These two mascaras are the one that I have been interchanging lately. I bought the Benefit They’re Real Mascara from StuffInStyle back when they were having the PhP 250 off, so I got the mascara for only PhP 750, and I bought the L’oreal Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black from the Superb Bazaar. I love these mascaras. They’re are the ones that I have been using for the entire month of October and they volumize & lengthen my eyelashes like crazy.

X. My Six GoTo Lip Colors

My Six GoTo Lip Colors

Pretty much like before, I also have a couple of lip colors that I have been using for the month of October. They are:
(According to swatches from top to bottom)
Miner’s Matte Factor Lip Paint in Peach
Wet N Wild Mega Last Matte Lip Color in 907C Mauve Outta Here
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in 002 Icy Nude
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 030 Smitten
Mac Satin Lip Color in Rebel
Mac Lustre Lip Color in Plumful

I have been wearing all of those lip colors whenever I go out especially my Mac Rebel even though it’s daytime. I love how I can sheer it out to make it appear less vampy. I also love my Mac Plumful. Although I need to apply a few coats in order to make it appear more opaque (since it’s a lustre finish). My WNW Mauve Outta here is the one that I go to whenever I want a pink, subtle lip color. I also love my Revlon Smitten Balm Stain because it lasts pretty long and I don’t have to worry about reapplying it. Pretty much like my Rebel (only that I don’t have to worry about emptying it, if you know what I mean… since it’s expensive & all… ). My Revlon Icy Nude, for me, is my perfect nude lip color especially if I want to have a heavy smokey eye. I also prefer to use it when I like to go for a milder, neutral look. I love it’s shade. Honestly I have couple of more lip colors that I’d love to include I just don’t want to crowd my list. Lol

XI. My Seven Fave Nail Lacquers

Okay, so again, here are some of the nail polishes that I am loving this October:
Jocarste Nail Polish No. 33
Jocarste Nail Polish No. 49
OMG Nail Colors in Sunny Tan
OMG Crystal Sand Nail Polish in Hematite
Color Club Nail Lacquer in Hey Gorgeous
Wet N Wild Mega Last Nail Polish in Disturbia
Wet N Wild Wild Shine Nail Color in Raincheck

As you may know, I am such a nail polish addict, so this is hard for me to narrow down. I’ve tried a lot of nail polishes this month and I liked a lot of them actually, but these are the ones that stood out to me the most. Sorry if there are no swatches. The ones that I am often using is Color Club’s Hey Gorgeous. Though it’s expensive, I love how opaque it is, and I love how it looks like in my nails. I have a couple of red, frosted nail polishes, but this is very unique. WNW Disturbia has a bit of sheen at the bottle but when applies it’s more of a cream finish. I like it’s applicator, it has a ‘Manicurve Pro Brush’ which makes applying a bit easier (at least for some, but for me, I’m used to the straight ones, lol).

XII. Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer

I bought this for my niece’s 18th birthday and this product never failed me. The only issue that I have with this is that it smelled so minty (smelled like mouthwash actually, just like GossMakeUpArtist said, lol) but I love it. It’s more affordable than all of the makeup sealer that we have in the market, and it works just as well.

XIII. Etude Wonder Pore Freshener

I don’t usually use a toner but since I’ve been experiencing breakouts lately, I decided to try one. Luckily, due to the sample bottle that I received when I purchased the Etude Dual Show Mascara, I was able to try this one. I loved this toner. It’s very refreshing, and I’ve never experienced any breakouts ever since I started using this.

XIV. Garnier PureActive Anti Imperfections Roll-On

This is what I usually use to ‘spot-treat’ my blemishes/breakouts and this product amazes me. It works in just hours!

XV. My 2 Fave Scents

I love these two scents. I’ve been using interchanging these two whenever I go out. I wear my Zen Zest Thistle EDT whenever I go to the mall, run errands, etc. But when I go out with my friends, family, special occasions, etc, I wear my Banana Republic EDP. I love these two.
