Mac Lipstick in Rebel – Reviews, Photos & Swatches

This is actually my first MAC cosmetic. I know, despite my makeup addiction, I still find it hard to spend PhP 1000 for a single lip stick. Of course, it’s different when we’re talking about the UD Naked Palettes, but lipsticks? Nah. But when I saw this shade, I really can’t help but WANT it. I saw this shade from Temptalia‘s review, then I saw it from Say’s vlogs, I’ve been eying this lip color for months now, trying to talk my way out of it. But still, I gave in to my makeup addiction/curiosity.

Mac Lipstick In Rebel

I bought this shade last Tuesday, as a part of my FOTN on my niece’s 18th Birthday. I tried swatching it on my hands and my mama said, “What are you doing?! Try it on your lips!” I really don’t try them on my lips. I know it’s weird, but because it’s Mac and being that I’ll be spending PhP 1,000 for a single lip color, I thought it’d be better to try it on my lips. Then I did. My mama was smiling like a kid with a lollipop and when I saw that, I knew that I had to buy it.

At first I kinda got scared with how dark the tube looks. But when applied, it appears as a berry red, plummy shade that in time fades out into a gorgeous fuchsia. It has a satin finish and it’s very long lasting, at least in my opinion. You can of course layer it to make it more vampy looking and of course sheer it out to make it less vampy, if you know what I mean.

Here are some photos & swatches of the said lip product.

So, here are my current pros and cons about the product. Although I’m sure you’ve heard all of this before, I thought I’d give you what I think about it still.

P R O S
C O N S
Very opaque
Long lasting
Fades out into a gorgeous fuchsia
Can be sheered out to make it less ‘vampy’ but can be layered to make it a bit more darker.
Not too dry on the lips
Expensive! (PhP 1,000 in regular Mac Stores and PhP 995 online)
Can only be purchased at Mac Stores or at Rustan’s (and online, of course)
That’s it. Can’t think of anything more, honestly.

I love this lip product. Seriously, all of my expectations were met, and every time I’m wearing it, I’m loving it even more. I think that it’s worth the money, even though it’s expensive. I never thought I’d say that about a PhP 1,000 lip product, but yeah. You heard it.

Yes. Definitely. I can’t stop wearing it. Might try out other shades too.

Okay, so those are my thoughts regarding the said lip product. I’m sorry if it sounded a bit like a fanatic. Anyway, off to work. Will post more product reviews soon!

Gorgeous color. I really like vampy-pretty lip colors like these for the ber months and the holidays, they feel so festive to me.

I used to think MAC lipsticks expensive too! But then after I got my first one, for me it was like pringles…once you pop, you can’t stop.

    • So true! I can’t help but think about what to buy next! Lol

  • I really love bold lip colors! However, I can’t splurge on this one! haha .. I have the dupe for this one which is the Wet n Wild megalast lipstick in Sugar Plum Fairy and it’s my favorite out of all my lipsticks! I love how I can easily achieve a vampy look with the use of the lipstick! It also makes me feel more empowered and sexy and bold! haha If that makes sense..

I have also seen this one from Say and that made me buy the dupe which is cheaper..
