What’s In My Kikay Kit?!
I wasn’t into makeup kits before. I have my usual makeup kit of course, with my small hair doctor, compact foundation and 2 shades of lipstick then that’s it. But then I noticed that it’s kinda not enough these days. Even those who are pretty much younger than me have way complicated makeup kits than I have, so I decided to add a few things. Though I don’t use these products that often whenever I bring them with me, I still bring ’em especially when I’m with my family because my family tends to rush me whenever I do my makeup so either I forget to put on my mascara or put my bronzer. This way, I get to still finish my look.
Anyway, enough with my babbling, here’s what I usually have in my “Kikay Kit”

4U2 Dream Girl Lovelight BB Powder (No. 2) with SPF 15 — I’ve been reading/seeing a lot of positive reviews about this product, and since I’m all out with my MaxFactor Facefinity Compact and I broke my Human Heart Nature Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation (yeah I’m such a klutz I know!!), which are both pretty pricey, I decided to try this one out, since they’re back in stock. All I can say about this product though is that it gives a pretty damn good coverage, it mattifies though it doesn’t last that long, so you’re gonna have to retouch every now and then. Oh, and you’re gonna have to stock a few of these products because they might go out of stock again soon.
Maybelline Angelfit Perfect Concealer in Light Beige — I actually forgot to include this in my September Monthly faves. Sorry, my bad! Anyway, I love this concealer, so I often use this. It’s perfect to cover the dark spots under my eyes, it doesn’t appear to cakey when I apply it. Therefore, I can set it with either a compact foundation or with just a simple pressed powder. I also use this as a subtle highlight when I want to have a bit of a glowy/dewy finish. Though this is not ideal to cover blemishes, it can pretty much do the job. Honestly though, I’m not the one to ask when it comes to excellent concealers for covering blemishes/breakouts. Sorry
In2It Waterproof Eyebrow Colour & Marionnaud No. 38 Eye Brush — I’m not really a fan of eyebrow pencils. Mostly because when I contour my brows using an eyebrow pencil I end up drawing either a straight line, a really high arch or a very defined, wonky eyebrow. Therefore, I prefer doing my brows this way, at least when I mess up, I can remedy it by using a spoolie.
E.L.F. Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder & E.L.F. Elements Face Blush — I love how pigmented this product is. At first I was kinda “scared” to use the bronzer because I thought it was a bit too dark for me, but I learned how to work around it. A little of this product goes a long way. Though the only thing I didn’t like about this product is that it doesn’t stay long on my face. I’m not sure if it’s me, or because of the product, but it’s one of the main reasons as to why I don’t use this product that much anymore, except when I need to do some retouching. Lol. I love the mirror though. Lol.
As for the brush, I use the brush for both contouring and blush. I’m not really a fan, but I need something portable and I can pretty much work with it.
Urban Decay Mini Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Original) & Wet N Wild Coloricon Palette (Walking On Eggshells) — I usually do my eyes using my Naked palettes, that’s why I have this particular palette handy, because it goes on with everything. If in case I need to do my eyes all over again, I just use my handy-dandy mini eyeshadow primer potion (which I got from my Naked Palette) and then I put on my Wet N Wild Walking On Eggshells palette. I love wearing this especially if I’m going for a subtle daytime look. I use them according to their labels and I don’t bring additional eyeshadow brushes with me, I use the applicators that came with it. Trust me, in this case, they pretty much do the job.
Nichido Mineral Kohl Pencil &
Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Volume On
K-Palette 24Hr Real Lasting Eyeliner, Nichido Mineral Kohl Pencil & Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Volume On — Despite having waterproof/smudge-proof eyeliner & mascara, these things just don’t seem to last on my eyes. Mostly because when I’m a bit tired, my eyes get a bit teary, and well, they’re no longer smudge or waterproof. So, I keep these things handy so I can just retouch whenever I need to.
Lip Ice Sheer Color Lip Balm & Revlon Lip Butters (Peach Parfait) & Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (Coralberry) — I’ve always been fond of lip balms. Before, I prefer using them instead of lip colors because they’re very moisturizing and they have various flavors, which if you’re lucky, it will remind you of your childhood fave candies. That’s what Lip Ice Sheer Color Lip Balms reminded me of. It reminded me of Strawberry-flavored Boom-Boom pops, before they changed into something I’m not really a fan of. Anyway, I love this, and it’s usually my habit to use a lip balm prior to applying a lipstick whether it’s a matte lip color or not. Especially recently when I had my braces installed.
As for the lipsticks, I always carry with me two to three lip colors, and ever since Revlon came up with their “Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter” line, I always include either Peach Parfait, Sweet Tart or Creme Brulee in my Kikay Kit. The other one is the lip color that I’m wearing on that day (for me to retouch, of course), and if I’m in the mood, I’ll include a lip gloss :).
Just to clarify, I don’t really use all of these items every time I go out, I don’t often retouch because my makeup can stay pretty much intact all throughout the day. I bring all of these items just in case I forgot to do my lashes, contour my cheeks, because I am like that, especially if you rush me.
Anyway, those are currently what I have on my “Kikay Kit”/purse when I have my huge bag with me. But if I have the extra space, I bring with my an eyelash curler and my makeup cleansing wipes. That is IF if I still have the space, and if my bag is not yet that heavy, lol.
How ’bout you guys? What do you have on your “kikay kits”/makeup kits? Do you like bringing ’em with you? Comment and let me know!
